Sorry to hear this. I do hope that its only rest required and dont worry about this place too much.. ATEOTD its an internet forum and it will still be here when you get back and ready. There are enough 'responsible' peeps (both Users & Mods) on here to keep this place shipshape while you are away!

    All the best.

I got a kidney stone soon after college. I was making $50k a year at that time... and while less than what I make now, was nothing to sneeze at. The total bill for all of the urilogical visits, the surgery, etc, ended up costing ~$35k.

I went to welfare and was simply like "This is more than half a years pay, if I had NO family, and no other finacial obligations". They ran it through some super calculator and I was approved for some emergency medical situation grant, and I didn't have to pay a dime.

The mind boggles at the US health system. I know that Hilary Clinton (during her husbands term in office) made a bit of a hash of convincing the US to go for a system similar to the one in Europe, but hey the Clinton's were actually right you are being charged stupid sums of money for something the NHS (National Health Service) in the UK (and throughout most of Europe) would have diagnosed and assisted with treating for free!

Time for the US to catch up with civilised society and actually give a shit about their citizen's health me thinks!

hmmm thank goodness, the Danish health system still works good. Since I was hospitalised yesterday with my lungs felt like they were burning, and I couldn´t breath. So I had to get extra oxygen in my body, so I could sleep later last night on the hospital. And then they found out today, that I had bacterial pneumonia and I am now on medicine. And well they (the doctors) feared that I had a bloodclot in my lungs, but thank goodness it was bacterial pneumonia. Even though that sucks too.
