War Never been so much fun Go up to your brother Kill him with your gun Leave him lying in his uniform Dying in the sun War War Never been so much fun
3PS + FPS games pretty much, GoW, CoD etc. Stuff that imitates for sales instead of innovates for entertainment.
Oh come on, you knew what would happen. The entire topic is centered around hate, of course someone was bound to get pissed off. It's easy to tell just from the title that the thread would quickly become one long argument about how everyone's opinions suck. Metal Gear... Awesome? No, but really though, am I the only Metal Gear fan that doesn't find Metal Gear Awesome even slightly funny or amusing? Even when I was younger and more open to stupid internet humor I always found it to be more irritating than anything.
On that subject, a friend of mine recently showed me the Jaguar version of Cannon Fodder. I couldn't believe the quality of that intro audio (and it being on cartridge!). Must've been a MOD.
The other thread looked civil enough. Hence I assumed it would be okay to start this one. I'm surprised how many people hate Mega Man. It's my favourite NES game, most notably the 1st one, too. Did I get pissed off? Nope, no reason to. No, not you. What have you done to annoy me for starters? Also, I'm not scared to say who I like/don't like. If it was you, you'd know. I dare not watch that...
Dance Central, every single one of them. A game for hyperactive middleschool girls to take pictures of and post about on Facebook. Fuckin hate it, and all such dancing games.
Don't be hatin because you don't got the hips for it! BACK ON TRACK: -Skylanders: Must I explain? -Resident Evil: Resident Evil 6 and Revaluations are just so bad. -Super Paper Mario: Didn't feel as I expect. Has some funny jokes in it though. -Call of Duty/Battlefield: DLC stupidity. Bad community. Gameplay boring, not interesting. -Minecraft: I enjoyed it without all the stupid crap like villages, food bars. -Halo Reach to 4: Turned into complete crap, Call of Duty -Microsoft: Not a game, but has gone to crap -Gears of War Judgement: Fluffy of Wars: Tickle Me. It's just so bad now, way too casual. -The Legend of Zelda - Skyward Sword: The motion controls were awkward at times, the sprinting was just bad, not a lot of places to explore, not a lot of themed dungeons(they looked the same) -Zelda Spirit Tracks: Just ehh, so bad. -Anything from EA.
I was disappointed with Luigis Mansion 2. There were about 20 mins to each level, followed by about 5 mins of scores and filler crap. Every time there was a cut scene, you had to watch the video, then have E. Gadd call and explain exactly what you just watched. I swear, less than half the time spent 'playing' were you actually controlling luigi. Also did not like Spirit Tracks. It felt like they decided to strip out the one element that has been central to all Zelda games- exploration. There was a whole world to explore. Unfortunately, you were confined to about 200 feet total of track. There were also missions where you had to ferry an NPC from one side of the map to the other. You had to follow arbitrary rules that made no sense, considering you were the only train in existence. Wasn't a fan of skyward sword. The lack of exploration coupled with the relative positioning of the wiimote made it a forgetable game. If I had played Skyward sword first, then played Elebits, I would have guessed that Elebits was a newer game. The motion plus feels just like aiming in clay. The precision of the senor bar is so much nicer. I never could get the hang of the controls, either. It was just awkward. (The Wii is the only 7th gen console I own, so my view is not biased toward another console. The game really did suck.) I've had a long day. What's happening to games? Where are all the good ones?
Uncharted series for me. The climbing mechanic consists of pressing Up with no challenge. I find Drake annoying and the 3rd person combat was average.
Can't believe I forgot Burnout Paradise, they managed to ruin almost everything that was good about the series: Open world was pointless and mostly empty Races force you to check the map all the time since one wrong turn would cost you the race, making for some really frustrating experiences because Burnout doesn't lend itself to this kind of meticulous route-choosing at all Being forced to drive back to the starting point every single time you lose, would a restart option have been too much to ask for? The brilliant Crash mode replaced with that stupid bouncing car thing that's practically impossible to fail
Agreed. I think it's one of those cases where the game itself is decent, but the fact it is a sequel to the awesome Burnout games, it needs to hold up its end of the bargain, which it does not. Which is exactly how I feel about Metroid Prime and any recent Legend Of Zelda, they all suck. Wind Waker was the last good one, & Metroid is a 2d side-scroller at heart. - Every COD after #2 - GTA 4 (amazing engine powering it yet a very lackluster story & characters which seem to serious, floaty feeling driving mechanics.) - Every Monkey Ball game after Super Monkey Ball 2. They killed this series, taking away the great multiplayer mini-games was a huge nail in the coffin. - Mario Kart after Double Dash. I can't believe people like the Wii version. It is seriously shitty. - Every Final Fantasy after 10. - Every Resident Evil after Code Veronica. (not counting the awesome GC REmake, definitely counting 4,5,6) - Minecraft Not really a recent title, but every Megaman X after 4 is just garbage to me (& 4 is the worst of the . . . best) That's all for now.
I'm glad I didn't play into Paradise too much. Although as a plus it had Avril Lavigne on the soundtrack...! They got rid of crash mode? I didn't even recognise the game when I played it after doing so well on Revenge! And we all know Revenge trumped Takedown! :wink-new:
I've been having trouble finding an interesting game ever since 2008. It's like the gaming world and it's forums just went into a free fall right around this year... Yeah, these days, games that come from western culture aren't too great. American Devs: "Okay, this is in style or this has worked before. Let's do it ad make a ton of cash and have lots of fans!!!" Result? A half assed game that's usually hit or miss. Hit meaning it's more likely to be overhyped and/or overrated, miss meaning that it's crap. Japanese Devs: "Okay, lets do something totally unique with an awkward twist. While we're at it, let's put our heart and soul into it too!" Result? A well executed game that's memorable for decades and virtually bug free, but underrated because it's overshadowed by the above. My perspective. Yours may vary.
Easily the New Super Mario Bros Games. The way they designed it looks awkward and all the games are just a re-hash of the last. Paper Mario the Stickered Star sucked for me as well, an RPG where battles have no point whats so ever.
Well said. And then there are these Japanese developers who are more and more leaning towards the game-mechanics of the Western games (like Gears Of War for instance). In other words; they're losing the unique identity which I so very much love. And memorable? You bet! Of all the games that I have played, the Japanese are the ones which remain the most memorable (the vivid colors, the incredible music and the great stories)... From Seiken Densetsu 2 to Ridge Racer. From Sonic The Hedgehog to Persona4... You're not the only one. I have got a huge BOYCOTT-LIST! LOL
tower defense games. anything that comes from or envolves an app store, or the term "apps", social network games. call of duty mw 3. for starters lol.
