Assembler I love you and this forum. I hope you get back to making cool videos again. When I can afford to do so I'll see about supporting the patreon. Anyways I used to really like Sessler even when his substance abuse issues came out I just felt bad for him. But when he came out as being pro-Zoe Quinn and started attacking his fans and gamers in general he went right off the deep end and never came back. I still see articles about him from time to time and he has just regressed into a hateful little troll who has no pleasure in his life at all. He just needs to wander into the woods and find a tree to die under. -doulomb
And then she has the audacity to do the opposite of how mega man fans reacted when Metroid Other M was released and she herself got pissed off exactly the same way as we did with MML 3's cancellation although with our case it's kinda different sorta.
My guess would be clearance issues since most every show used a ton of video game footage. There's different rules regarding broadcast and sale of that stuff.
Oh, well that sucks i guess cuz a few of the lesser know shows showcased a couple of very obscure Japanese PC games and a few Japanese PS1 games as well with little to no information at the time sort of.
I have a lot of memories of the channel when I first discovered in in 2004, I was hooked until it took a turn the next year. Not all of it has really aged well, like X-Play is not as funny as I remember but The Electric Playground and Judgement Day/Reviews on the Run were great and even going back now, still hold up. Still, while I have never seen TechTV in its glory days since I never got the channel, I do respect it and the early days of G4 when they were doing what a lot of internet media groups do now when it comes to covering games and electronics. Was it a success? Obviously not, but it was an interesting failed experiment of the era that with the right work COULD have been something better.
It's annoying that I can't search for this thread using g4 cause it's too short. Anyway, G4 is all the way dead now. Esquire is shutting down and is gonna be a digital only platform. http://variety.com/2017/tv/news/esquire-network-1201962261/
I remember the transition from ZDTV -> ZD/TechTV -> TechTV -> G4 and the uptick and then slow decline in quality. Was super good for about 5 years there. I remember pestering my parents to get a channel package that included TechTV. Now the internet contains quite enough to keep me interested. Revision3 was good for a while before Discovery took them over, fired everyone making any decent money and brought in shallow replacements. Now I have things like the Ben Heck show on youtube to scratch my TechTV itch.
