Remember g4 TV?

G4 was only good for 1 year. 2002. Tech TV was awesome and everything G4 from 2004 onward was putrid shit. Xplay to me paled next to Extended Play and Kate Botello was a better co-host and Morgan was better as the linux person on TSS.

 

I loved that network back in the day! SOOOO much memoires watching that channel nearly EVERY single day! I could honestly talk hours and hours about the shows i'd watched and loved before it's demise.

One of my all time favorite shows back then were Cienmatech (and it's late night version one "Nocternal Emissions"), X-Play, Judgement Day, Icons (or "game makers"), Cheats, Filter, Anime Block (they had one time), Code Monkeys and E3 Specials.

I noticed that alot of the shows never had DVD or Blu-Ray official releases, does anyone know the reason why? cuz i would love to buy a few of my favorites by anychance

 

that is a good question. I am unsure. I assume the owners never pondered it or assume that making one wouldn't gain enough revenue to justify it. http://www.g4tv.com/ is still up and running sorta. I'm sure you can contact someone and enquirer or request so.

 

yeah, I'm kinda upset they butchered TechTV, and for what in the end? Cops reruns.

 

I got to meet the VA for Mary of the show at my school. Apparently she writes books now.
She didn't have my attention til she mentioned "G4" and "Code Monkeys". She really did enjoy the show and working with the people making it. Even she didn't enjoy G4 going under.

I still rewatch this show and show it to friends just because it was that entertaining to me. That and getting Steve Wozniak to voice Steve Wozniak must have been quite a treat.

I still remember meeting Adam at E3 2012. He was a really nice dude and actually took time to chat with us and take a picture (which reminds me I need to track down my old camera and get that photo uploaded!).

 

I still have the Adam/Morgan/Cat autographs I'll have to scan em and post them here tomorrow.

 

Oh my god Icons was amazing. Glad someone else has fond memories too.

Tech TV and most if it's shows where awesome, after G4TV assimilated TechTV, everything turned shitty and horrible. Adam Sessler changed from a calm, well-spoken guy reporting on fun games in Extended Play, into a guy that acted like a
hyper-active,condescending,snarky, immature 14 yr old-like, jerk that needed some Ritalin. All of which I am sure he was told to act that way according to script.

Same for Morgan Webb, her negative attitude about unique/creative games for the Wii (there where actually some damn good games, they weren't all shovelware), verbally dumping on Mega Man fans when they formed a group to campaign for Mega Man Legend III development to resume.. her mean snarky-ness, which was all uncalled for. Just made me stop watching G4TV all together.

 

This reminds me of a few years ago there was a fucked up video of him acting very strangely during an interview on the floor of E3. Most people thought he was coked up and honestly it seemed like it imo. Also there was the controversy about how he gave one of the God of War games a low rating soley because a Trophy was called "Bros before hos" or something like that, which was awarded for the sex minigamne if I remember it correctly.

Then he was one of those anti-gamer people who gamergate was against and he just kept alienating people with the awful and stupid things he was saying. Honestly I wish I could still like him but he has really gone into a downward spiral these last few years. He was even fired from Xplay for erratic behaviour and attacking and insulting gamers.

The first video is edited too much and he barely talks, but that second video isn't edited so badly. I only watched it halfway through cause it was obvious enough to make a judgement. Yeah, something was offf in the second video.
