As far as I know, there is not even so much as a picture of the actual disk online. I pray that there is still one complete copy out there somewhere, but I wouldn't be surprised if all of them got thrown away because honestly, who care about the free promotional materials that get thrown at you at conventions?

A july 2002 date doesnt make sense for e3 though. e3 would have been in May, and for a pressed disk it would have to be even earlier.

This is true. Do you think the videos and the wiki page are a hoax? If so that would at least explain why there's so little info one something that one would think would at least have a few glamor shots floating around the net if nothing else

Like, if you can still find the rarest of the rare NES carts for sale (pricey they may be) you would wonder why there isn't so much as a PICTURE of the alleged item.

EDIT: Something else that is suspect, I can't find any info on a Japanese E3. The 2002 E3 was hosted in L.A. from what I can tell so why would they hand out an NTSC-J disk with Japanese writing on it?

But, on the flip side, there is a ROM d/l, which I haven't downloaded yet, but if that does indeed work, it would call the idea of it being a hoax into question because who makes a hoax so elaborate that they fake en entire rom complete with 6 levels, promo ads, and info about other games? If someone had that ability, I think they'd be more interested in getting internet famous for it as apposed to remaining silent and unknown.

    EDIT 2: Here's the link to IGN's list of E3s http://www.ign.com/wikis/e3/Past_Expos

Am I missing something here? Is there a Japanese specific E3 that happens in July?

There never is an e3 in Japan. There is TGS, but in 2002 it was in September.

I doubt it is a fake. But you might want to look for shop demos.

AHA! It has nothing to do with E3!

Here's a comment from one of the videos
If this comment is to be believed, and I dont see why not to, that means it's simply a kiosk demo which makes a lot more sense than it being a promotional item from E3. But why the heck does the Wiki say that? So odd.

Also, the comment was from a westerner so I would imagine that this demo was around in more than just Japan.

EDIT: Also, apparently the youtube user Vertrex has a copy so Imma try and get in contact with him

    Did you see my edit?

So I now just need to get in contact with the guy. So far I found out the email + phone of one of his friends so I sent the guy an email asking for Vertrex's email.

But that's only for the Japanese version. He claims in the youtube comments that his copy is the only one in existence which while unlikely, very well might be true. Just because there used to be a lot in Malls everywhere doesn't mean they were all saved from the doom of landfills.

But I am happy that there is at least ONE copy that exists. This is my holy grail but up until now I didnt even know if it was real. Hazah!

WOAH! Can you take some pix of the disk and case? I'd love to get a peek at it.

And now we know this to be untrue :)

The download is genuine. This is the nfo, information on the ISO from dolphin (right clicking -> wiki -> brings you here), the file directory, title menu screenshot.

You can see from the file directory that there are multiple ISOs inside for the different selections. This is the information on the Sunshine game ISO from dolphin (converted to gcm using tgctogcm).

The (dumped) discs: Interactive Multi-Game Demo Disc Version 7, 8, July 2002, August 2002 have sunshine demos, 7 is a prototype. I don't know how the ISOs (TGCs) inside each demo ISO compare with each other and the one in this "Mario Special Disk".

    DKP 2001

Does anybody have any information on where E3 2001 prototypes (like Kameo: Elements of Power) might be?

I most specifically am wondering where an E3 2001 prototype of Diddy Kong Pilot, which was not released to the public yet, could be. It is more polished than the 09/07/2001 build we have, as it doesn't have those stars at the bottom of the screen. I believe Torrentstorm had every DKP prototype to exist (he once sent me a picture showing me that he was about to delete all the prototypes on his computer, out of anger; it's not on the internet anymore, but I have preserved a copy of it:

    3yyoV.png

Does anybody have any information on this? The ROM build names are also extremely accurate, so it probably isn't a joke. Back when I was that immature CBFD kid in 2012, this made me figuratively drool on my computer.

After this, why don't we start a discussion on the more neglected Donkey Kong Coconut Crackers game.

Gaz, all those files have the exact same "Date Modified", all he did was take a file and copied it multiple times and changed the names. You most likely got trolled.

That's probably right, so how's about we discuss Donkey Kong Coconut Crackers? That's an unreleased Rareware GBA title.

I've never seen those builds outside of that screenshot. As well as the date modified thing, all the 'build dates' look like the sort of numbers you might make up, notice how only one of them ends with an odd number?

Also it is a ridiculous number of prototypes for a second-party Nintendo game.
