Yep, which is exactly what I try to avoid with releases, and why I'm really not going to worry about doing many until I can afford to take the loss entirely on my shoulders. It isn't worth the $1000+ I lost only to have lawyers knocking on my door, but I can't force the press not to post things. I took proactive steps to make sure the game got out there, but past that I can do no more.

 

There is another option: Anonymously and without taking the money, but it is an option for true heroes

 

That shit gets on my nerves too. Prototype collectors who charge absurd amounts of money for games that more often than not turn out to be complete and total shit. It reminds me of this era:

Power Ups

Powerups are done at "Tonight's Matchup" unless otherwise noted.

Extended Roster - At the TEAM SELECTION SCREEN, spin joystick counter-
clockwise three times, then press and release the Steal button. On some
teams, this will give you the choice of an extra player on their roster.

Team Swap - At the HALFTIME SUBSTITUTION SCREEN, hold joystick to the right
and hold pass until the box "Team Swap Enabled" appears. This allows you
to switch teams to any one of all 27 teams. Use turbo to swap your players,
and use pass to move your selection to the next team on the list. Confirm
your selection with shoot.

Tournament Mode - Hold Joystick right and hold down all three buttons.
Tournament mode turns off all powerups, secret characters, abilities and
prevents substitutions or team swaps.

Shot Percentage - Rotate Joystick and hit all three buttons seven times.
This turns on the Tournament Mode but brings up the percentage as before.

Small Head - Hold Joystick Southeast (Down and Right) and hit all three
buttons three times in this order: t-urbo, s-hoot, p-ass, t, s, p, t, s, p.

Big Head - Hold Joystick up and hold down all three buttons.

Huge Head - Tap Shoot five times, then hold Turbo, Pass and the Joystick up.

Quick Hands - Hold Joystick down. Hit shoot eight times, holding it down on
the eighth time.

What's so new about Tournament Edition?

Newer graphics, Extended rosters that cover 25% of the NBA, more special
guests, new power-ups, new recruits from the NBA, and a special thank you
screen dedicated to us on the Internet! YAH!

The problem with anonymous releases isn't one of fame or glory, because who cares, but rather preservation and being able to track where things came from with proper information. Sources are important And trust me, I've never made money on anything, goes against what I do.

 

Yes Borman, we all know how awesome you are.

 

There's pricks out there that will use prototypes as a profit/gain. So sad really.

 

but I need repro carts for my collection! =(
