well.. I haven't clicked on the link - but saying 'people are too damn touchy' is bollocks really. as long as they are not looking for this game to be banned there's nothing wrong with being a little offended by this game's content. it comes down to sensibilities. if women are portrayed in a certain way in certain games, and it causes offence - beyond my agreeing or not on a subjective level - and as long as they are not making idiotic arguments or asking for games to be banned or sensored - there's a place for that in society. people are entitled to an opinion. sorry about getting so huffy but let's not brush this off like it's meaningless - Capcom took a risk and this latest RE offering will be scrutinized by the general populace - not just hardcore gamers. personally I think the game looks sick - as in really, really good.

I'm not sure if this is true but I heard a story that Capcom got complaints from people that there were not any black/colored people in Resident Evil. And they were saying that it was racist not to include them.... And now some nutjob is complaining of the black zombie shooting.. sigh

Sorry, I just had to laugh at this SL as it's so contradictory AND controversial! A) Nazi's by definition in the 1930's were indeed ultra LEFT wing and subsequently all left-wing views have been deemed to have some form of racial undertone. That's why everyone with any political agenda in the last 2 decades has been scurrying into the centre ground. B) The comment regarding gamers and them being shot is the opposite of what was being said. C) As Nazi's were racist, I very much doubt whether anyone of any ethnic origin would either be accepted into any Naziesque parties (unless of course the KKK have finally opened their doors to all colours?!) or that anyone of any other ethnic origin than the so-called Arian race would be speaking on behalf of Nazi's. D) The comment about the Jewish people killed in WWII is interesting as frankly people seem to completely forget that the Jewish race have been persecuted throughout history by all sorts of people in many different countries. It wasn't just their religion, it was also their apparent success in lucrative business. As such the Nazi's used incredibly powerful propoganda that under pinned personal fears re the Jewish community to turn ordinary, law abiding German people against them. Now, if I am not mistaken (and this was back in the 1980's) I was playing the part of Rambo, in the jungle (so foreign shores mean there's an ethnic tone here) and whilst blasting your way through various villages there were various types of buildings INCLUDING what looked like a bombed out temple or church. Correct me if I am wrong, but that is precisely the same as what the CoE was banging on about a couple of months agho, but perhaps it's because that was a rubbish pixelated pile of nonsense and this is their beloved Manchester Cathedral? That's half the problem with these arguements though. They don't really, infact make much bloody sense! For example, who precisely was offended by the images seen in that particular game? Not God (for those of you who think he/she/it exists) as he allowed the developers to put it into the game without some strange ACT OF GOD wiping that section of the game out, not the gamer as who the hell notices where they are when they are being shot at? You are just minding your own ass! So, is it perhaps the people who complained? So, the ones who complained have exactly how much gaming experience? As they are also grown up they are hardly going to be influenced! So were the people of Manchester outraged? I very much doubt it! This brings me back neatly to the topic in hand... who is exactly offended or allegedly influenced by these games? These people really must understand that racism is far more to do with the community you live in, the experiences you have as a child and the kind of parenting you have. I think maybe the black community may have wanted a strong black game character to identify with, who isn`t sterotyped (GTA:SA) and seems to have intelligence and strength like any other game protagonist. So far it`s been Shadowman who`s had his own game that i can think of. RE5 looks great and as for being racist people really need to realise in film and other media it is ok to tell one side of a ficticious story even if it racist or sexist they aren`t fact and merely social commentaries. This game however appears to be set in Africa and sensibly most of the zombies are black. p.s. the nazi`s were left wing
I think its a load of rubbish to me since its only a game and the same thing could be said when leon was killing spanish people in 4. In my opinion its getting taken to far already and if it gets banned before it gets out I'm going to be really mad.
I know its not technically his own game, but the black guy in Eternal Darkness was one of the best characters. As for this, it just seems like people will do anything to stir racial drama. Theres always some twat thinking that they can file a lawsuit and make their money out of the companies.
