Yeah, and it's also Limerick, not Limmerick. And also, emphasis on the "no money" part. Don't worry about me, I'll get broadband... eventually! :smt022
Retro Core Vol:3 promises to be the best so far ! Back by popular demand is the Hardware close up plus a new Vs feature which will show the same game running on two platforms. Here's what you can expect to see. Arcade Special (Film of inside a retro arcade), Best Christmas game ever (you probably know what this will be), Axelay and Run Saber on the SFC, Phantasy Star on the Master System, Granada on the Sharp X68000, Bari-arm on Mega CD, Techomotor on Saturn, Panorama Cotton on the Mega Drive. PC Engine Vs Mega Drive special (Devil Crash). Yakumo
Hey Yakumo, I jsut finished watching Retro Core volume 2 and it was really good Only thing that bothered me was when you talked about Castlevania you neglected to mention the Playstation 1 re-release/remake of it. Not that its a major point...I just figured it might have been good to compare it to the updated version ^_^
I didn't know there was a playstation remake of the X68000 castlevania game. Do you meanthe one that was also on the Saturn? If so then that's not an actual remake of the X68000 game. If there is a remake it might be worth my while to check it out. can't beat a bit of castlevania :smt023 Yakumo
You insult my knowledge of Castlevania, Yakumo. I know Nocturne in the Moonlight is a seperate game :smt023 I'm talking about Castlevania Chronicles (Castlevania Chronicle: Akumajou Dracula in Japan ^_^). Its got the entire X68000 game in its original format and an updated version (Some difficulty changes, new music and Updated Sprites for Simon Belmont and Dracula). EDIT=== http://www.classicgaming.com/castlevania/x68.htm There you go :smt023
Ah, I see. I forgot all about that release. Shame I don't have a PSX to try it on. maybe I can borrow my mates? I love castlevania games. Yakumo
How do you find the time to do these? I haven't downloaded any yet (bloody internet connection on the PC sucks ass atm...prob due to mad spyware from "undisclosed locations" ;-) ), but given the rave reviews, I think I might just have to. I don't like Castlevania. The first one on GBA got rave reviews, but I just couldn't get into it. :smt009 :smt009 Maybe that Saturn shooting special will coerce me into getting a Saturn. :-D
Ah I did purchase spy sweeper...but the dirty funking spyware disabled it! Or maybe it was Sevice Pack 2! In any event, it doesn't work, so I'm experiencing major crap-ups. :smt022 Will re-format once I get new wireless equipment...facilitates extracting/installing the new stuff that way. :smt023
I had Spy Sweeper but found it to be pretty poor. I'd use it then run Soy Bot afterwards and Spy Bot would find stuff that Spy Sweeper had missed. Spy Bot is free too ! Yakumo
Ad-Aware also occasionally finds stuff that Spy Bot doesn't. It's also free. I've also found another great way of avoiding spyware - DON'T USE INTERNET EXPLORER!!! I use Opera all the time now (even in college, were I had to install it onto a Zip disk due our 2.5MB profile limits!), and the only time I ever get spyware is when my idiot brother uses IE.
i know its been asked before but how exactly do i connect to yakumo's ftp server? i need to get an ftp client right? suggestions? then what adress do i look for? thanks a lot
You'll find all the info you need right here http://www.segagagadomain.com/retrocore.htm :smt023 Yakumo
I finally watched Retrocore volume 2 and it's great. I loved the Art of Fighting comparison and Psycho Fox. I used to play Psycho Fox with some friends when I was younger. Good old times Edit: I just watched the Saturn Shooting Special. It's very nice, but I thought Radiant Silvergun would have a little bit more showing time And I also thought you would also review Psychic Killer Taromaru, since you reviewed some non-conventional shooters. Anyway, very nice show. Do you plan to do more specials, like "Saturn 2D Fightning games" and so on? BTW, did anyone else had sound problems in the Shooting Specials? I had some strange noises when Yakumo spoke or any high-pitched sound played between minutes 34 to 44... The sound for the rest of the special was fine
There is a sound error on the shooting special for about 10 minutes half way through it. For some unknown reason Virtual Dub thought it would boost the audio while encoding. I have no idea why since the original MPEG 2 files aren't like that. Yakumo
