Fantastic episode again, Didn't realise the games for the 32X were quite so crap!

Each time i see your show i add a few games to my wishlist! just put a bid in on the tokyo bus guide, thanks to that episode!

The 32X has even more crap that what I showed. It's pretty easy to see that only the Japanese really used any of the 32X's power while most of the western shite were ports of Mega Drive or SFC games :(

Good move on Tokyo Bus guide. You'll love that game. See if you can get it to crash like it did for me on Retro Core :smt042

I beg your pardon, you must be joking. Doom was an astounding technical feat in its time (still is, considering it fits into 3mb on a system with 256k of RAM), and DarXide looks absolutely stunning (if you can find it) - both were made in the West. And even though it plays like crap nowadays, Metal Head looked pretty good back in the day. I'm sorry to say but the "all western games are shite" attitude pisses me off many a time, as it's just a misconception.

I've just seen it. Kedora has another gaming show on their site and I got it while I was downloading vol.5. What a difference, show is about games and not hosts. It seems they got the G4Tv flu.

Well..just a minor rambling about that but the show was good. Congratulations. Seeding vol5 and waiting for vol6 :p

PS: When I found some 32x cough*roms*cough around here, I made my own special. I think Virtua Racing was the only game I could play more than 5 minutes on emulator. It was really sad that time for Sega.

Yes, I think Doom on the 32X is great. Didn't say that was crap and also thought Metal Head was good for it's time which I said on Retro Core. Don't think DarXide is that good though. It's ok but not great. True that not all western games are shite (European developed) but most of the shite (Console) games by none Japanese are mostly developed in the US. (Waiting for the hordes of angry come backs. Sheild up !)

I do agree with yakumo on this one, still there are good us games, but even then most of my favs come from japan and at times europe. I blame it mostly on ea dominating the us developed market. Isn't gta developed by scottish people?

I'm with Yakumo too. Obviously not all western games are shite, and obviously some Japanese games are utter crap, but generally the standard of coding coming out of Japan is higher than the west. Maybe something to do with the stronger work ethic the Japanese are supposed to have?

Retro Core Volume 6 is now available for download after almost 1 month of problems with it and then yesterday the PC died :( But it's now finished and rared up for download via the FTP. The BT downloads will be ready in a few days. I'd also like a few people to test the download to make sure the FTP is ok since I had to re-install it after the PC died.

    FTP info:

    IP ADDRESS - segagagadomain.serveftp.com

    LOGIN - RetroCore

    PASSWORD - kikugawa

    PORT - 21

Yep, the FTP is taking a right beating now :p 10 users downloading like crazy so the speed may drop a bit. If you're lucky you can get up to 50kbps but it's unlikely do to the amount of traffic.

Nice one again, although small suggestion - on the PC-88 special why not a few sepcs on the machine - i had never heard of it before, and although i have now found out more on the system, it would be better with specs in the show.
Otherwise well done, nice show, yet again.

watched it and must say it is a huge improvement over the pervious, especially in editing and video quality, its funny you mention street fighter 2 on sharp x68000 being letter boxed, whats odd is that emus tend to emulate cps1 and cps2 games in widescreen, though could never figure out since actual arcade is full, guessing its a resoloution thing, anyway great show, and i was curious if you were ever planing on doing a comparison of a game based on what region they were from, ex: such as the difference between the us and japanese version of say sega rally or mystical ninja for that matter?

A comparison on Magical Hat and Decap Attack was originally planned for the first ever Retro Core but never happened. But you know, after reading your comment I may just bring that idea back. The trouble is that I'll end up upsetting many pro-western game fans :p
