There was a train wreck which contained irreplaceable items of mine. UPS has written off the whole shipment and would rather just file an insurance claim. I wil be calling UPS on Monday but may need someone to go out and find it in a pile of boxes.

    Email me if interested.

Considering the type of auctions BuyAtari normally has, I think we can guess... damn that is really awful news and I hope someone helps you out. $1000 for a few hours assistance seems a hefty reward for returning your "Mickey Mouse" boxer shorts, so my guess is..... dev.... damn it!

its worse than dev stuff. That I could let go.

Its 33lbs of original Atari art.

It was insured but I feel original art like this is irreplaceable.

Right now UPS won't even deal with me because I'm not the "shipper"

Ah, I am really sorry to hear that and I get what you mean. Some things can never be replaced and art is one of those things. Fingers crossed mate!

I don't think you'd want to visit Kansas though, even Dorthy has moved on! :noooo:

I used to live in Garden City Kansas, so I'm allowed to say that! :110:

Yes it was insured. I don't care about the money. Almost every item on that list was a one of kind piece of videogame history.

isnt there anything you can do? How was it all destroyed it was just a wreck and not a fire or something? Have you went out to the site and asked around in person if they found anything like that?

To clean up the mess everything every single box damaged or not was hauled away to a dump. They won't tell me who hauled it. They won't tell me where it was hauled. They won't even talk to me. They only talk to the shipper and my shipper used a shipping store so they won't even talk to him. The shipper has had to go to the shipping store have them call UPS and UPS will then call the shipping store back with a reply.

threaten them with legal action. Tell them what was lost was one of a kind art and that you have talked with a atterney (spelling?) Then see what they have to say. I would also call the shipper and tell him to get his ass in gear and find the stuff. Maybe even offer him the reward money?

They would say they are only legally liable to the shipper and will cover the package for the declared value in insurance. Dude they don't care. You might as well complain about postage hikes at your local post office. Believe me they just don't care. They won't even talk to me. I have to contact the shipper who has to contact the store he shipped from and have them call. They won't know the answer so they will call back the store within the day.

The answer is never the right one anyway (some coined responce) so we have to try it again. If this stuff is sitting in a dump how would I ever find it? By now it could be 25 feet buried.

However, they did say not to ship irreplacable items. How helpful.
