How about the Famicom Titler PPU? I've used both it and the PC10 PPUs. The Titler PPU's colors and compatibility are clearly better.
I can't imagine tracking down a Famicom Titler just to steal the PPU from it. They are so expensive I bet even buying a broken one to salvage the PPU from would still cost too much. Now if I could get a Titler PPU to do RGB for a reasonable price I would do it sure. But I don't see that happening.
I don't think anyone was suggesting taking the PPU out of a Titler. Just wish they were more common and less heavy.
I've actually done it twice, both times the Titler was broken but the PPU was intact. In 2005, it ran about $150 each all costs considered. Back in '99, it was about $100.
We know you had to blow someone at some time for that deal. Man up. I will admit though. If gold ever falls out of the sky, I'm sure it will land at your house.
