thats exactly what I was thinking; maybe by using that "technique" and some special program its more easy to rip GD-Recordables.

I actaully don't think it'd works, since there's no way to acess the dreamcast menu without completely unloading the game.

Swap read with bba (me+dot50cal method) or gd-x seems to be the only "easy" way to dump gd-r.

I think it's pretty much back to my technique but with a program that can do 2352bytes/sector rips, since it needs a cd with the same toc, wich is really not probable to find if your game got cdda, you gotta create a trap disc ...

Correct me if I'm wrong !

I don't know if you want to hold up on that; I should be getting a GD-R from drx soon and I plan on releasing universal GD-R rip discs and a guide once I can confirm that my discs work with an actual GD-R.

Hey darc, it don't hurt to have 2 documented ways to do the same thing !

Some ppl might prefer http-ack, some other might prefer Dot&Me one, it's not important, and the guide is being written for a long now. Don't feel in competition with us btw.

I hope your method will work too btw, but so far, only our worked on a real gd-r and is confirmed, eventhough it might really works on yours.

Have a nice day/week/year and good luck !

That is a very neat and well written guide.
Out of curiosity, did anyone ever try ripping a GD-R with the playstation GD ripping method?

As I said before: Even if darc finds out a method that would save ppl from burning one trap disc for each discs, it don't hurt to have 2 documented ways to do so.

Also, my method of creating a trap disc could be used to rip gd-r with a retail dc and DC-LOAD SERIAL for thoses who don't have a BBA. I'm currently looking for someone who got a BETA GD-R and, a serial cable and a blank cd to test it out.

    Thank you !

Any help would be appreciated, just try this method with the serial cable instead of the BBA and give us feedbacks.

I can't get DCLoad IP to get an IP address on my DC.

Quake 3 configures the BBA just fine with an IP address, but DCLIP always shows a 00.00.00.00.

    Any ideas?

Would love to make this work.

    Thanks.
