It won't. Not enough people have broadband connections or play online enough yet.

Isn't the figure something like 90% of PS2 owners have never been online? Maybe even higher than that.

Dude, 1GB=1Gb, you know hoy many GBA carts 8Gb is? most of them dont go further than 256Mb.

Nintendo could release some sort of GBA-net, which could be a GBASP with 1 or 2 GBs of memory and you download the games either by the net or using a cellphone.

I bet ya, it would be a success, specially among the iPod buyers.

Taucias, the PS2 online service SUCKS BADLY. Is already a pain in the ass for gamers, just picture it for a casual...

About broadband, well even at 256k you can download 200MB in less than an hour, and some cool PSX games (and even Dreamcast ones) are only that big.

You're talking to a comercial GBA & DS coder. Not a fanboy here. :|
Gba carts wont past 256Mbits because that is the address limit. Sure they can push into bank swapping but for the gba nobody will want to do it.

Second nintendo's biggest audience with the GBA line is Children. Regardless what you feel or see in online pools. The largest buyer of GBA units are partents buying them for their kids.

Nintendo moto for handheld is, "If its cheap, we'll take it."

The "dude" is as "you should know it" not as "you n00b!"

This concept would be a nice way to get the GBA into older audiences. You cant deny carring CDs around is as much hastle as to carry cartridges, specially small ones like GBA's that can get loss easily.

Yep but it wont get off the ground in the near future. Sure it will work for older gamers but in the handheld market, thats not nintendo's main focus.

If my memory serves me correct. Nintendo tried this concept once before with a cell phone that had GB hardware in it and could download games to play. Yet it never went anywhere (I believe it was shown at e3 2001, first year i went).

Also IMO, It blows balls having to wait for a 300MB-1GB demo to download over the xbox 360 marketplace (and i have broadband).

Subbie> That's why you click "download" then go do something for 10-15 minutes. :)

I do but I also use my pc monitor so I can play in HD. Yet for some reason I get disconnected every once in a while. So it sucks to have to recheck it every 10 mins to see if its still going.
