I know that Sony wanted to redesign the controller in conjunction with avoiding the rumble patent infringement, but they could have come up with a better design by now. Maybe their intention is to make all their money through sales of a PS2 to PS3 controller adapter. I know that I will be buying one as soon as possible.

Hey, did you know that the PS3 uses the same logo font as the Japanese release of the Spiderman movies !! Cheap Sony can't be bothered to make up a new font. They probably thought nobody would notice.

By the looks of it now, the controller doesn't look that uncomfortable as claimed before. Especially because of the way the the Dpad and the other buttond are arranged at an angle.

Looks like they will fit comfortably, roughly speaking of course.

Sure, but what happens when you need to use the joysticks?

  9. Oh my god, I can't wait! They've been working on "Weather Channel: The Game" for years now, can't wait to get my hands on that puppy. Thank you Nintendo for allowing me my dream of playing with LIVE DOPPLER RADAR!!

Nintendo just separed themselves from the two others, making two distinct category of controller with its remote. you can't really compare them.

Tested the Xbox360 pad today, and i was surprised how good it was. I didn't played with it too much, so i can't really say if it's the best old fashioned controller ever made, but i can tell you that it could be. On a side note, it reminded me even more of the Dreamcast controller. But in better.

Looks like itll fit really nice :) The only concern I have is the Triangle and Circle buttons. They seem to slope off the side :\

  13. Wow, that thing looks a lot tinier than I imagined. Verdict is still out on if it is comfortable or not though. Guess we'll just have to wait and see. I think I'll be happy with my 360 controller though. Not actually buying a 360 for now, just the usb controller to use on my computer.

Having seen that piccie it doesn't look too bad. I had visions of it being twice the size but that does look like it will be pretty decent to hold. Circle button does look a bit too far over though.

  16. Apparently you never saw the original ps3 controller prototypes. Lemme check here and see if I still have the picture laying around. Here it is:

I'm sure there will be a third-party controller coming out that is very much like the original dual shock, for those who don't like the official controller.

to give a size guesstimate from that pciture.....it seems the analog sticks are about the size of the psp nub, or the gamecube c stick...buttons look to be the size of the tiny b button on the gamecybe pad.......good for people and japanese alike with small hands........bad for normal handed people

holly hell, this thing is way too small! it seems like you could press all the directions butons at the same time (a la gamecube), if you compare them with the thumb of the guy. Other than that, it seems better than what i thought.

Anyway, i tried the xbox 360 controller again, and, surprisingly, i'm really thinking this is the most confortable controller i have ever touched so far. the only problem i can find is with the shoulder buttons, wich are bizzarely placed, but it you use them as much as the black and white buttons on the original xbox, it shouldn't be a big problem. 59.99CAN for the PC version is too much for my tastes though.
