Salmon Appreciation Thread

Let's show the Trout Appreciation Thread who the real boss of the ocean is and that being lower on the food chain isn't so bad if you are a fish swimming in heavy metals. No mercury poisoning here thanks! To start things rolling here's some salmon from Sunday, 19th February 2012.

 

I dont eat seafood. It has never sat well with me so I just avoid it now.

To me, Salmon is nasty.

 

All seafood? Or are you from the trout clan?

I couldn't eat salmon even if you paid me in protos. It isn't as much the taste as it is the weird... no, the FOUL smell. I'm more of a cod person myself, and I'm not talking about the FPS.

Seafood is the best, also i really want to go to a fish & chip shop now.

 

Or he didn't set the date/time on his iCommunicationDevice.

 

Ohhh come on, iDevices are overrated! This was taken on a Canon IXUS 300 HS! The date is 100% correct!

Edit: Honestly though, you must have had a bad bit of luck with salmon. I've only had it smell bad once, and even then after cooking it came good. Don't ask me how that works. I was hungry, worth the danger of bad fish for the love of salmon.

 

I live in Norway, there is salmon EVERYWHERE! Especially the dead, sliced kind. It is an aquired taste, one that I simply don't have. Wish I did though :/

 

Yeah, I don't think salmon smells bad either... it's different than most other fishes, for sure, but it's not a foul smell to me. I buy mine in darnes or filets, maybe in Norway your salmon comes whole (and fresher than us) and the fish itself smells stronger than its meat?

 

Salmon is great. Publix around me sells Bourbon Salmon and it is the jam!

 

Where the hell is the catfish appreciation thread. I also love mojarra.

 

I too also wonder when the vastly superior catfish will get its own thread.

I love salmon so much I regularly bathe in a kiddie pool filled with raw salmon filets. I am a paragon of dedication when it comes to salmon. It's not enough to just eat it. You must be one with the salmon. You must feel it, in your bones. You must flay thyself and rub salmon on your literal bones.

Step to my level fellow salmon'ers!
