I don't need additional testing with Action Replay, thank you for the offer anyway.
I just wanted to know if bootloader was still working elsewhere than my dev (modchipped) Saturn, and thanks to you I could verify it's almost OK :)

I did not think my vigil action replay would be compatible with the firmware 0.831 pseudosaturn :)

    Dear

I just receive a new EMS Action Pro Replay Black edition, bought here:

    http://www.hkems.com/m_main.htm

When I try to install firmware from Disc, I have this message

Error detecting cart. HW not supported

    HW ID: BF45 0741

I success to install the ARP_202C.BIN firmware from Atlas CD, and re try, same message.

When I flashed with Atlas, just before press A+B+C+ start for begin flash, in line vendor and device I have:
    "proceed with caution".

it's seems the ID device in not reconize by Pseudo Saturn, maybe very last APR have a new ID....

    Please could you help me.

I already buy two APR here but white edition, and I succss to flash it witout problem.
    Thanks

I bought one of those but it's still on my way.
When I get my hands on it I will surely report the results.
I actually got it from ebay, not from aliexpress, but I think it's the same seller.
It looks like a genuine ems Action Replay so I'm keeping my fingers crossed it will work with pseudo...

The guy above you said it worked from the second try. If it's the same product.

nonosto, please correct me if I got it wrong:

1 - you bought directly from EMS Hong Kong Action Replay Carts, black edition (I could only find the white edition there)
2 - one of the carts didn't work with ATLAS firmware installer
3 - the second cart worked (but 1M-4M RAM function doesn't work?)
4 - you have bought previously from EMS Hong Kong Action Replay Carts, white edition, and those worked with Pseudo.

Have you used the same Saturn for flashing the white carts and the black carts? Or have you used different consoles? Maybe one is working and the other has some problem?

Have you tried looking at the black edition pcb's and white edition pcb's? Maybe there are some differences?

You are unable to flash back to ARP_202C.BIN firmware from Atlas CD to confirm cart is working properly?

Have you tried CafeAlpha installer disc?

It is possible that you have a defective cart, though.

I don't know if this has been documented yet. But I was successful in flashing Pseudo Saturn onto a Boom! Booster Pack 4M Plus cart. (A white Action replay 4-in-1 clone cart with a 1mb/4mb switch built into it)
(I'm very pleased since it only cost me £10, as opposed to the £30+ people seem to want for the Action Replay carts these days)

Just some person selling off their old Saturn stuff on ebay (it's all gone now sadly).
I wanted the other stuff too, but couldn't afford it sadly.

Well people, here it is, it arrived yesterday:

    Fotografia1794.jpg

    Fotografia1792.jpg

    Fotografia1793.jpg

I have already tried Pesudo and, at first, I got the same results as nonosto did:

Flash Vendor ID: BF45 - unknown

Flash device ID: 0741 - unknown

I used CafeAlpha's installer disc and decided to proceed with the flashing. It terminated successfully. Yay! :)

So yes, the cart is compatible with Pseudo but I did notice that no matter what type of disc I used (retail or back-up) I always got the message "real Saturn disc detected", which obviously isn't true in the second case.

I know I really should not be complaining about anything, since Pseudo is free and works ;), but is this a bug or the result of some cartridge/Saturn combination? o_O

Meanwhile, I managed to get my hands on an older version of the ARPlus (with the comms port) and I decided to do a comparison test:
    Fotografia1790.jpg

    Fotografia1791.jpg

    This time it reads:

Flash Vendor ID: B7BF - SST

    Flash device ID: 0707 - SST29E010

Again, I used CafeAlpha's installer disc and it flashed flawlessly.

But the same 'real saturn disc' bug appears.

    What could this mean? o_O

I always took "real Saturn disc detected" to mean that the Saturn thinks there's a retail disc in the drive and is booting it as such, regardless of whether it's a backup or not. I don't think it's a bug.
