I am not entirely sure but I was under the impression that when a burned CD was inserted it should read "Pseudo Saturn disc..."

It's not a bug, this is a remain of the time when game needed to be "pseudo patched" in order to boot.
Both original game and backup copies will display this string.

It's just a change in the readme, stating that CyberWarriorX will no longer modify Pseudo Saturn. It's not a changelog event worth celebrating ...

I have Action Replay Plus 3 in 1 from EMS, 831 version I wrote in my cartridge and it has always worked perfectly , however when trying to write the 832 version , this message appears telling me that is not compatible :

    Error dectecting cart.HW not supported.
    HW ID : 53BF 4707

How is this possible if the previous version worked, and was successfully written to the cartridge and basically does the same with another version ?

Worked for me :), but only on my older model AR plus with the comms port...

The newer one, which I recently bought from EMS, reports the same "Error dectecting cart.HW not supported." as described above.

It features a nice logo on boot and supposedly is more compatible, which I can confirm to some extent since my copy of Batsugun crashed with 0.831 but loads fine with 0.832.

It also shows some additional information on screen, like cd region, but everything disappears so fast it's hard to make out.

However, Alien Trilogy still doesn't work for me (the lens goes crazy), I wonder if games like that still need patching.

From what I can tell after reading the changelog this release doesn't address the P.D.S. issue.

@caphealpha2: Could you please update your flasher utility to incorporate Pseudo 0.832.BIN ?
Maybe that would do the trick for many users. Thanks in advance.

You think in the future, the saturn can load backups from hdd, like dreamcast?
I see your cool proyects in your web :)

Oh, spain :) I spent nice vacations in Tolede, many years ago :)

HDD may cause power supply related problems, but it should be possible I think.

    Thank you :)

Possible, but a bit unprobable. Dreamcast's GD drive sports an ATAPI interface with custom instructions, so there's almost no need in additional hardware, one should only patch BIOS calls. Saturn uses A-bus (which is basically async-RAM-like interface) from CPU to CD block, and multiple serial interfaces from CD block to the drive itself. Injecting HDD at either of these points would require at least an additional hardware ATAPI or SATA controller, and probably some glue MCU/logic. Every Saturn backup loader would require some additional hardware after all, but this one seems like a hard way in both senses.

    Will test time provided

For now if I get the time that is I will make an Atlus disc with the new version of Pseudo on it so more can flash there carts, more to use up to the point that cafealpha2 can find the time to re-do his flasher

For Saturn there is a SD card mod, but that is not really related to this subject, there may even already be a USB port mod also, something I have not looked into in any great depth though, but know of 2 different approches one is a drive replacement like the GDemu (it is by them :p) the other is just a cart with a SD slot

I do not own one of those but that is the one by the GDemu team called Rhea

If this has not already been talked about just create a new thread on the subject I'm sure plenty will jump on it

Here is the Atlas disc with PS830 PS831 and PS832 aka Pseudo Saturn version 830 to 832

This will allow a few others that can't flash it to be able to flash it

Also included are a few original firmware dumps so a restore can be done

Sorry that took a while I had to install XP to the virtual machine (just did not get round to it after my older PC died)
