    Hello!
Only to report , I bought an ARP these days here in Brazil, and trying to flash it with any version of pseudosaturn but only gave the message: " Error detecting cart. HW not supported.
    HW ID: BF45 0741 "
    I think I was unlucky ?

Please try with my flasher : http://ppcenter.webou.net/pskai/
(-> flasher_arp_20151005.7z file at the bottom of the page)

It will display that your cartridge may be unsupported, but flashing it should work.
Don't forget to inform if it worked or not.

I can help, things are a bit stalled on the DreamPi project, so I'm looking for something else to tinker with as it gets colder outside. Let me know!

    Sorry, Stac was faster ^^;
If development continues well, Stac is the last beta tester before official release, so please stay tuned :)

    Olá Rafael! :)
Como está tudo aí pelo Brasil? :p

You must have an ARP similiar to mine.
I have tried both Pseudo versions 0.831 and 0.832 and they worked (although 0.832 had some issues...)
So yes, please try Cafealpha's flasher and it should also work for you.
Let us know the results or if you have encountered any problems.

Looking forward to your work still cafealpha2 :)

Wish I had more time to do some serious testing but I don't at the moment (This is not a lack of interest as I am sure you already know :p) but I would not lie just to get my hands on one of your beta boards (Though yes would love to)

Your idea's and direction with it are very impressive not just for other development but from a pure gamers point of view giving more options for save data, something the Saturn was lacking in (as most consoles of that day did with no real backup restore methods asides from more memcards) I know your kit is more than that also, even if you consider it a light cheap option it has a lot of appeal to it

Save game modding is a nice add to it not sure if they used any sort of check sum though can't say I looked into Saturn save data all that much myself, but if all of it works just fine that would be a great for those that want to cheat there way through a game that would maybe be too challenging otherwise

maybe even start a trend of creating some sort of cheat patches for saves (Max collectables/Stats or even just cash or just to unlock all game features that would normally require multi play through's) I would find the creation of patches like that fun to be honest, kind of done something like that in the past and kind of in the same line of cheat devices of today that don't let you cheat directly in a game but do mod saves instead

P.S. just hinting on idea's for having some sort of hex patch engine with pre created patches or even external software to create patches maybe even built into the SD card device part of the software you are currently working on for it, though I know you would still be working on limited flash storage but with SD to piggy back on it could be additional via SD if needs be

Is there some kind of patch for the Panzer Dragoon Saga USA version that allows it to boot past the black screen? I'm trying this on MESS emulator and it always crashes the emulator or stays at a black screen after Andromeda screen.

This is not an emulation forum and is not even related to the subject here

I could resolve the issue for you, but I would rather not have anything negative against my account here

Try asking on a emulation forum/site like emuparadise or something like that, I am sure someone would be happy to help you out there

    Hi all!

Just signed up to say my thanks to everyone that made this possible (EDIT: CyberWarriorX and jhl)!
I bought an EMS Action Replay Plus from ebay, and flashed pseudo saturn .832 using cafealpha2's flasher (thx cafealpha2!). All went smoothly and I've successfully loaded my backups on my 18(!) year old Saturn!

If more testers are needed for this or any other projects for the Sega Saturn, please let me know!

    Thx again!

There's not only Saturn in life, so I understand your choice :)

    > but I would not lie just to get my hands on one of your beta boards
Thank you ! Actually, finding testers meeting all requirements is difficult, especially regarding the "free time" requirement.

You're right, first purpose of my project is to easily backup save data on PC.

I added an hex-editor to backup data manager, but its usage is rather limited ... maybe I should add some compare feature in order to see which data changed between two save states.
This can be added easily, and don't require any hardware modification, so it may be added in second release (I think I should wait opinion from users after first release in order to put things in order in my todo list).

My cartridge is designed for this, but ... only for this ^^
Hardware design is very simple, so advanced features (extra RAM and iso loader) won't be available.
Save data are organized as "one file per save data on FAT32 file system", so it should be more robust than official memory cart.

Glad it did the job !
I only did things around flasher utility, so you should thank Pseudo Saturn authors (CyberWarriorX and jhl) too ;)

When I do get a bit more time on my hands I will start taking notes of saves/hex locations that is providing emulation game saves do not change anything from what the real console produces (should be the same)

That will atleast give you something to work from, if/when you get the chance to work on something extra for it as I know you can't do everything at once and do have your own time issues

    I personally can't do this for every games ^^;
I'll try to make something simple enough so that average user can design its own save hacks. But whatever it may be, this will be done later, because adding extra software features now would postpone even more the initial release.

A basic patch engine would be the goal, then community codes/patches (hex addresses and value ranges)

Naturally I would not expect anything to be done before the initial release anyway

Even as is this could be done on PC with any hex editor or directly on your cart with the correct information provided

Just tried today and thought I should report here: it seems Dark Seed (jap) requires 0.832 to boot and play.
0.831 will not do for this one.

Ok, so let me make sure I understand this. The only hurdle people were running into trying to play Panzer Dragoon Saga on PseudoSaturn was that anti-cheat feature on the first disc that causes it to freeze after the intro FMV. All other discs work fine and do not freeze at any point. v0.832 FINAL has solved all problems with Saga and no patches for this game are even needed at all. Is that correct? Just a little confused if a patch is even needed now that v0.832 FINAL is out. :p
