They may be referring to the fact that Saga boots you into the CD player after you open the drive door to change to disc 2. Obviously you can't start your CD-R backup from that menu. This is not really a problem because it requires you to save your game before, so you can simply turn the system off, insert disc 2, and then load it from PseudoSaturn.

In any case, I have just made it to disc 2 using that method and so far I have not noticed anything unusual. I will attempt to complete the game and report back if I experience any problems.

is there any chance for the save game functions to return in a future update? it's the only thing stopping me from flashing my Action Replay cart. The battery in my Saturn is dead, so I don't really have any other way to save games...

go buy a CR2032 battery for 4$ ( a good brand you can use the 1$ ones from dollar tree but they dont last long ) and open the door in the back and change it, they will last about 2 years, and if your not sure and dont want to lose your saves turn it on and change the battery when its on.

Battery is connected to SRAM power (called SVCC on a VA13 schematic available on this forum) via double diode (D2 on page 8), to prevent battery from powering entire VCC rail when console is off. In my first saturn this diode was broken (they short-curcuit when they break), and battery actually did powered entire VCC rail. Saturn did not actually worked from a battery, but it lasted only for a day or so. It took two batteries to understand what's wrong, but after diode replacement everything went back to normal.

Maybe Fram replacement will fix the problem of lost saves but I think this was mentioned in another topic on the forum here.

Does the RAM on the Action Replay still work after you flash this? Not the save RAM, but the memory expansion. (Otherwise, you couldn't use this to play anything that requires RAM.)

The RAM expansion will still work, it's just memory chips wired directly to the card connector AFAIK.

hey guys, i was trying to get discworld burned and running. yeah i know the pal version 50/60hz makes the dialogue go out of sync w/ the animation. but i'm concerned, b/c i burn the disc, EUR version ISO Darkwarter from ISO Zone, i have gone thru so many coasters w/ this game. i have region patched it...but it seems the arp 4m plus seems to allows other regions thru...its allowed non patched x-men vs street fighter play just fine. i can't get a "free way" to get nero to play on my pc..but i have tried imgburn, fireburner, cdrwin. the drive's slowest speed is 8x it is a Lite On It Corp dvd/cd rw drive model# SHM-165H6S....so i burn the disc, first the image w/ daemon tools lite mounted plays fine in SSF emulator. the burned disc even plays fine in the emulator from the disc drive. but, i put it thru my saturn w/ arp 4m plus flashed w/ pseudo saturn 0.832, and after it says start game, i press start, it loads the sega logo, hangs, then goes to CD player and acts like the disc is an audio disc...is this gonna happen to all EUR/PAL games on a NSTC USA Model 2 Saturn. or is it just discworld, or discworld 2...yeah 2 is doing it too. do i need to go slower speed? no idea why it does this...any help to solving this conundrum would be appreciated.

Please learn to use paragraphs. There's no reason for so many ...s - you were flagged by the moderation system!

If you want the game that much (or Nero), buy it. We don't support piracy here.

Does that happen with any other discs you have burned?
It sounds to me you may have a problem with the CD drive of your Saturn.
Sometimes it's just the height of the spindle that needs to be adjusted but you may also have to tweak the lens pot to (try to) get the drive recognize the disc properly.

Actually, after investigating a bit more it seems to me that pseudo-patching is necessary for those games to boot.

Thank you for visiting my blog :)
I'm sorry that there is no good news ... but no bad news too.
I didn't had a lot of free time in January, mostly because of tacking care of sons being sick. Also, Pseudo Saturn Kai development is temporarily paused in order to focus in Save Game Manager application : it is now possible to import saves from various data format from it :)

On initial release, using Pseudo Saturn Kai on Action Replay won't change a lot of thing in comparison with version 0.832, but this may change in next releases.
When used with custom cartridge, save data will be accessible from SD card directly from game (no need to use menu in firmware in order to copy saves as Action Replay does) ... there are some incompatible games, but some major ones (including Dezaemon 2) were reported working fine.

And as Save Game Manager will be available as a separate application in iso format, it will be possible to use it from both Action Replay and custom cartridge. The major interest of this is that as it will allow to import save data to your Saturn, you won't have to play level 1 in order to enjoy last level of your favorite game :)

Hello everyone. I need your help. I have had some problems with PseudoSaturn in my japanese Sega Saturn. Games that need the 4MB expansion have some glitches. For example, the D & D Shadow Over Mystara crashes when playing with the dwarf or the thief. The same is happening with the street fighter zero 3. Any tips?

    hi,

i found a problem with the latest version v0.832.
I cant boot my original Jap Daytona USA anymore i get error 1.

With the old version ( v0.831 ) the game boots fine.

I am using a PAL Saturn.

is there any workaround for this problem ? o

    Hi.

You are sure you mean the original Daytona USA cd and not a backup copy?
Well, I have the Japanese Daytona USA game cd and it boots fine in my Model 1 PAL Saturn with Pseudo v0.832. o_O
Probably v0.832 is playing up on you. It is known for having that behaviour. :p
When you get "Error 1" message press button A on the Saturn pad to go back and then hit A button again to try to start game one more time. ;)
If it hangs on booting you'll have to reset and try again.
If all that fails then try to slightly move the cart on the slot and give it another attempt, using above procedures if necessary.

I can assure you it works.

Hi, I'm new to using Pseudo Saturn. I recently obtained an AR cart with Pseudo Saturn 0.832 on it.

Can anyone confirm whether or not Batman Forever The Arcade Game is supposed to be compatible with it? I'm assuming not, as I've downloaded many different ISOs of it, and tried various ways of burning it, and whenever I try to start it up, it just hangs on the Sega produced or licensed by screen.

I actually have a second cart coming (I just wanted a back up). Did some games work better with previous versions of Pseudo Saturn? Would it be worth while for me to try and flash one cart to an older version?

Thank you for confirming the compatibility :)

0.832 loader should work, but may sometimes be capricious.
Next update of Pseudo Saturn will feature both 0.831 and 0.832 loaders in a single firmware, which may help to get your game working without having to flash your cartridge.

Batman Forever The Arcade Game is among the games causing compatibility troubles, but may load if you persevere enough.
First, please burn a pseudo-patched version of the game and give another try.
If it still doesn't works, then please downgrade cartridge firmware to 0.830 and give another try with 0.830 and pseudo patched disc. Batman Forever The Arcade Game was reported to work with firmware 0.830, so this second solution should work.

Please note that upgrading back to firmware 0.832 may be a messy task, because 0.830 only accepts Pseudo patched discs, so please do the operation at your own risk.

To everybody : are you still using pseudo patcher utility ? Where can it be found ?
I personally didn't tested this game, so additional compatibility report is welcome.

Edit : BTW, is there somebody having region related problems with Pseudo Saturn 0.832 ?
Region bypass source code seems OK, but I want to be sure that everything is working fine on real hardware.
