I have the same problem on my Japanese grey Saturn. Can you downgrade your Pseudo Saturn firmware to 0.831 and inform me it works or not ?
Next firmware update will feature both (0.831 and 0.832) loaders, so firmware downgrade won't be needed any longer in this case.

@cafealpha2: I am just curious, have you made a new logo for Pseudo Saturn Kai?

    IMG_20160330_115510.jpg

Sorry for this question but what does 'Kai' mean? o_O

This is not the official logo. Just one that fits well the printed cartridges.

"Improved" or "enhanced", from the "改" kanji.
If you like Dragon Ball series, you maybe heard about "Dragon Ball Kai" :)

So I got my AR4-in-1 installed with Pseudo Saturn .831 via Atlas and have found that it can load retail discs (US and import) fine, but for some reason it's still asking me to insert a disc after I've put in a burned CD-R for any game. Needless to say, Pseudo is kinda useless to me unless I can boot CD-R's. Anyone know why I'm having this issue or a remedy?

Have you burnt the disc correctly via .cue instead of burning the file as .bin being your target source?

I always burn it via .cue. Imgburn fixes it automatically anyway if you pick the .bin.

I think it may have something to do with either your laser in the Saturn not being strong enough to read CD-R media, or the particular brand of CD-R isn't somehow compatible with the unit. Try testing a few other kinds of CD-R discs. and try burning them at slower speeds so they're easier to read. Slowly-burned discs leave slightly wider data tracks.

Strange, I tried two different types of CD-R's (Memorex and Sony) on 1X burn and neither work. Furthermore, I know that they are good burns because I ripped them back with Discjuggler to make them into working .cdi's for my Rhea. My buddy and I were attempting to utilize the CD-R's I burned with Pseudo and they didn't end up working on his system. Shame. If it's a laser issue like you suggested, my buddy was thinking about getting a Rhea anyway so that solves the issue.

You should've tried burning your games at 4X instead, they run perfectly fine everytime.

Also you could backup/rip your games with IMGBurn as well too, i assume it works much better there.

Made an account on here somewhat recently, but I just wanted to say thank you for the work you did on this as well as any respective programmers. I made a video covering this at one point and even bought a second AR flash cart so I could use this on a modified one while also keeping a stock one.

By the time I got my own Saturn and looked into modding it the console was easy enough to install a chip in but only a few places supplied them. By the time I found your work I looked around and to my surprise, even if I wanted to cough up the money it was surprisingly hard to secure a chip! I've told people this is an excellent alternative if you either don't want to solder or you simply cannot find a modchip for sale.

Thank you so much for making this tool. I've been discovering so many awesome Sega Saturn titles that I never new existed. The latest v0.832 works flawlessly so far.

    Cheers,
    Darren

Updated compatibility list can be found here : http://ppcenter.webou.net/pskai/compat/

List is still "WIP". Among others, I would like to use Madroms Saturn games database in order to improve game name display.

According to iapetus error codes, this is an invalid pointer error ? If this is a return value from BIOS, its meaning may be different.

Please let me know about your testing environment :
    - Pseudo Saturn version : 0.832 ?
    - Saturn used : "normal" US model ?
    - Do you confirm Pseudo Saturn can run original games with compatible region ?

Pseudo Saturn CDROM unlock feature works if game is original : it is already unlocked, so Pseudo Saturn doesn't do anything special.

Region bypass/patcher feature works differently from Pseudo Saturn 0.831 to 0.832 : 0.831 executes game without checking region, while 0.832 have to patch region according to Saturn model used.
If you confirm you're using Pseudo Saturn 0.832, please downgrade to 0.831 and let me know if it works or not.

Hi, I apologize if this has been brought up here already, I searched the thread but didn't find anything. I recently bought a Sega branded Jap version of the Mem card +. The flash does not recognize it at all. The device and vendor ID are FFFF. When I try to flash it goes through the motions as if it was going to, but does nothing to the card and I get an error at the end. The card is in no way affected, I can still access it through the system menu, copy saves, format it ect, ect. This really says nothing because the flash does the same thing with absolutely nothing inserted in the cartridge slot. Any advice or help? Thanks.

I bought a cart with 0.832 on it. Testing it with a Japanese Saturn, model 1. I can't even get it to read real games without error 1. Spent an hour nudging the cartridge, what else can i do?

You shouldn't have bought a cartridge with Pseudo Saturn on it. That's ripoff number 1, ripoff number 2 is if the cart is somehow defect.

It was the same price as a cart without it installed. Though I guess you are right about two.

It says it won't boot discs with error 1. My card slot is very picky about when it works so I don't know if it is that or a compatibility issue? In that case how do you reflash it?
