It does the same on my Japanese grey Saturn, but works fine on my white modchipped one, so there is something that needs to be fixed on Pseudo Saturn side.

Pseudo Saturn is free (GPL) software, so there is legally no problem around selling it, especially to people that can't (or don't want to) do firmware install on their side.
In this case, it is common manner on seller side to indicate what Pseudo Saturn is, and how to install it on original Action Replay cartridge. Making a donation to yabause project is also even better manner.

If your Saturn runs until Pseudo Saturn main menu, then your cartridge connector is working well.
Downgrading firmware to version firmware 0.831 should fix your problem.

The best way to reflash your cartridge is to use a model 2 Saturn, or ask a local friend experienced with firmware reflash.
If not possible, please try with the swap trick method, but this is tricky to do with your 0.832 cartridge inserted. (Please DON'T plug your cartridge when Saturn is powered up ! This can brick your cartridge, or make your Saturn not booting correctly cartridges anymore.)

Thanks for the reply. Not to be a complete dumb dumb, but where can I see the process and what is required for the disc swap method?

It has an option to reflash and I don't know where that fits in because I assume that the disc swap is to switch to Atlus disc before it boots?

    I really don't know.

Requirements : one original game (that boots correctly on your Saturn) , and flasher utility burned on CD-R.
First, please try swap trick without cartridge inserted : this is in order to verify that your flasher CD-R can be read correctly by your Saturn, and getting some experience about swap trick.
In order to learn about swap trick, please watch videos about "sega saturn swap trick" on your favorite video streaming site.

After you're OK with swap trick without cartridge, please plug your cartridge, but move it slightly in its connector in order to make Saturn incorrectly detecting it, hence booting from CD-ROM (please try with your original game : if Saturn boots to game, it's OK, if Saturn boots to Pseudo Saturn menu, you need to move the cartridge a little more), and perform the swap trick as you did above.
When flasher main screen is displayed, please slightly move the cartridge in its connector in order to make it correctly recognized (= vendor/device IDs displayed in green color), then flash Pseudo Saturn 0.831.

IIRC, Pseudo Saturn reflash feature requires communication with PC (typically with USB Data Link), and since recent Action Replay don't have port for communication with PC, I suppose you can't use this feature.

Please inform us if everything worked correctly or not :)

I've been trying all weekend to get the swap trick to work and haven't been able to pull it off. If I mail my cart would anyone be willing to install pseudo saturn on my memory card and mail it back to me, I'll pay the shipping and $5.00 for your time. (united states)

New here guys... Think I've done something wrong... I've been using PseudoSaturn 0.831 for awhile with great success. However like everyone on here, I've been wanting to play Panzer Dragoon Saga without it locking up after the opening due to the AR check. I downloaded 0.832 and it erased my old flash but failed when installing 0.832. Any help would be appreciated!

Try to flash your cart with pseudo 0.832 no logo.

If that fails go for Pseudo Saturn Kai. :)

Please first try Pseudo Saturn Kai : it was reported to have a better compatibility.
(For Panzer Dragoon series, you probably will need to patch your game image file with Pseudo Saturn patcher utility before burning it)

I hope your cart is still flashable. Please inform us about it :)

Thanks cafealpha2, I've been chatting with ynoS XSP about using Kai, I will be trying these fixes tonight. If not, I will detail my steps as best as possible and see where I went wrong.

I've been thinking. Can't I use the System Disc to run the CD-R in order to flash the cart instead of swap disc?

I believe the flash installation only works for Gameshark and Pro Action Replay cartridges

If you actually have an original System Disc, I don't see why that should not work - unless maybe the CD-R has some weird CD header setup/manufacturer ID that doesn't get unlocked by either of the two SDs. But that's something you'll have to examine anyways, to make sure the CD-R's ID works with the SD you have.

Pseudo Saturn Kai Installation CD-ROM is made as a third party CD-ROM (with "SEGA TP T-4242 " as manufacturer ID), and @DSwizzy145 confirmed it worked fine with his System Disc.
Please let me know if it works as-is with your System Disc, or if you need to change its header in order to get it booting.

(Using System Disc is a mod-less and the safest and way to install Pseudo Saturn :) )

You can't install on official memory cartridge, as indicated in Pseudo Saturn Kai's F.A.Q..

No luck guys, I've tried both Kai and re-flashing with cafealpha Atlas. No dice. Frustrated.... I think the cart that failed is dead. At least I have a working 0.831, I'm too afraid to try to upgrade the working ActionReplay to Kai.

Too bad for your cartridge :( This unfortunately happens.
Please keep your working cartridge without trying to flash it : bad cartridge flash are sometimes caused by Saturn itself (example here), and in this case, this would brick your second cartridge.
