Having a full jap sealed ngcd collection myself,i could tell it's not THAT hard, because the collection is about 100 titles only, and half of them can be bought in 1 hour.I'm not telling you'll get them for cheap, but it CAN be bought in 1 hour. Ok,you'd have trouble for 4-5 games..but what's this compared to a 700 titles PCE factory sealed fullset? Or a 1000+ fullset like Saturn,SFC? I think it can be achieved pretty fastly..just need to be in the right place at the right time for getting brikinger, breakers, metal slug 1...
As Adol says you can buy 1/2 set in 60 mins. Probably 75% actually through Yahoo and Ebay. The three you mention I have seen sealed for sale this year, (BTG a few times) and it's only mid feb. I reckon the only hard 3 are the ones I list earlier, although perhaps knock off the KoF96 Collection as it isn't that hard to see new. So aside from those 2 I reckon 6 months tops (probably way less) with 2-3 mins looking a day on 2 sites only and you'd do it. Not much really, even quicker if you do a proper search in many places.
may i ask where you saw games like brikinger or ninjamaster factory-sealed this year? i am especially interested in the latter but couldnt find it in the last 6 months... thanks!
Well, on Yahoo Japan Auctions, for example. I saw a french japan-based seller selling Brikinger for 60000Y but that was clearly too much,i hink he didn't sell it),and another one got sold for 30-40K around Christmas or first days of January.
Great collections, but sealed game collections are obviously for money(not that is a bad thing) just so many games itching to be open.
Not necessarily. Some people just enjoy the challenge; Others collect simply for the sake of collecting something unique. It's not always about the money, although obviously everything has a value which would be careless to ignore. To some, it's more about having something in a condition which is hard to find these items and owning something rare in an even rarer condition. It's more about respect and discipline rather than monetry value
I just bought my first new Super Nintendo (Super Famicom, actually) game since about 1997 or 1998 yesterday. I opened it as soon as I got home. Moral of the story: don't let me near your sealed game collections, or I will open and play them!
Judging by Breetai being located in Tokyo I guess it was just a resealed SFC game. It's almost impossible to find unsealed SFC games in the Japanese wild, they even reseal cartridges.
No, Juste is right. It was new, unopened and never played... but unsealed (as apparently the case with SF games). When I opened it, the flap on top was "stiff" as is the case with new cases. As well, the games, manual wrapping around the cart and the inserts are pristine. It was definitely new. Super Potato has a ton of new DKC3 for sale for 500yen each. They probably just got a hold of a box of unsold stock from over a decade ago. Since DKC3 is pretty common, it's going for cheap. My wife is playing it right now as I'm typing this. (I have found new Super Famicom consoles in the wild before. Kind of tempting... just overpriced for me at 8000yen.)
Super Potato seems to have containers full of certain items. They had new cartons with DKC3's even years ago when I entered that shop. Same with Pilotwings N64 and purple+red GB cameras... everyone who went there had one of these. Frightening. ^^ Game coming from those cartons are certainly new, but still there's no save way to "really" proof it in case somebody would buy your DKC3 online. You could just as well have handled the plastic bag very carefully.
Now those are awesome. I can understand paying a healthy premium for those a lot more than I can games that are just shrinkwrapped. Not that I don't understand the draw of all sealed games it's just that I wouldn't want to blow a lot of extra money for shrinkwrapped games...
got some sealed saturn games and some sealed dreamcast ones as well....only because i havent gotten around to playing them.
