Then the question is why hasn't it been announced already? iPad is out, the games for it are out. What is SEGA waiting for?
Strictly speaking, Apple would be the senior partner in that relationship. Even if they weren't, their tight control over the promotional media for their gear is legendary. I hasten to point out that iPad/iPhone devices aren't proper gaming devices in my book. I understand that there are millions of happy users, but the games I tend to enjoy the most are not represented at all on Apple's current platform.
I have not read anywhere that Sony is not using 3D in the next portable. That is what they are meant to be using.
Sony has publicly stated that they shall focus their 3D concentration exclusively on the console space and that the next PSP shall not use 3D. As Sony is developing a high powered system using an expensive multi-core PowerVR SGX543 in either MP4 or MP8 configuration no doubt coupled with an expensive CPU and RAM pool, they simply can't add in an expensive 3D screen if they want the BOM & RRP to remain under a certain price. There is a reason the 3DS is using a Tegra 1 and not a Tegra 2 because on the flip-side of the coin Nintendo cannot use expensive circuitry like Sony on top of an expensive 3D screen, again in order to keep both the BOM & RRP under a certain point. In the 2010-2011 time frame you either have a portable capable of low to moderate graphics capability displayed in 3D or a portable with bleeding edge graphics capability displayed in 2D. You can't have both. Unless you want to price the system out of mainstream hands.
sega will have console shortly this is cool i think they have something up their sleeve like yu suzuki with some shenmue about to come around shenmue online or shenmue 3 on the ps3
Why do you say its Sega? Maybe Capcom or Konami wants to try out the handheld market. I know thats probably not it but you never know.

I've not exactly been the greatest fan of Sega's more recent output, but that could very easily change if the company was somehow able to legally silence this idiot's blatant and now increasingly frequent falsifications. Heck, they could even use the money from any court settlement to actually produce a REAL comeback system instead of whatever crap this poor fool will try leading us to believe exists this week - despite the fact many of the ideas described in his reports would undoubtedly lead to another lengthy period of bankruptcy! Surely there must be some kind of gagging order we can impose on this annoying excuse for a legitimate journalist (with sources, he claims) before he kills my sense of hope for any new Sega hardware forever? Nintendo would never put up with this kind of shi...
