Our costs are $149 a month for our dedicated server, or $1788 per year. This is a lot of money, why dedicated and not cloud, or shared? *Freedom from censorship *Protection from takedowns. DMCA notices go to the admin of the server (me) vs the host (cloud, site offline). *File storage free from terms and conditions *Flexibility and security Expenses for 2012-2013 Server: $2300 Domain: $94 The domain was renewed for nine years (Paid by Retrojunkie in his generosity) we are set until 2022. :encouragement: Last year we had to hire a lawyer regarding some legals notices. $500 Why should you donate to the site? Our mission is to give people a place that is polite, extremely informative, safe and gentlemanly. As idealistic as it seems, this place exists due to such rules and a true community has grown because of it. We have strict rules and in general very low fraud occurrence. A community. Sharing - Many users selflessly sharing knowledge. Knowledge people tend to hoard and sell on ebay; we release freely and remove all profiteering from it. Finding and saving - Long lost titles live again and are preserved. Fixing and enhancing - Growing into the need for repair as supplies of consoles dwindle. Friendship - True courtesy and attracting the best kinds of people you enjoy talking to. Quality - Free of ego and flaming. Post a question, get a real, intelligent answer versus mindless low IQ posts lacking punctuation and basic grammar. Enthusiasm - You won't find a community more enthusiastic and passionate about rare and obscure games and hardware. As our motto says we are the "Home of the obscure".
