So I am not the only one?!?!?! This has happened to me a couple of times as well, and when I finally come to I am all like, "Wtf am I doing?"
I've gotten that many times as well. There was only one experience when I had that feeling and was actually falling in real life. I hit my face on a drawer and had a black eye.
I get it too sometimes, best thing to do is not fight it but just try and go back to sleep. I'd say it would be horrible if you couldn't breathe though
ive suffered from sleep paralasis for the past 20 years, prob happens to me about 2-3 times a month, usually after having a post apocalyptic nightmare, you know the ones, you a group of survivors being chased/hunted down etc, usually zombies hence my inherant fear of them! but it truely is a horrible experience, waking up and being unable to move or speak out of true fear, dripping in sweat until something triggers and you jump out of bed!
I also got way too drunk one night, threw up, and went to sleep. I woke up at 6AM more drunk than I was earlier (if that's possible), and I had to pee soooo bad. I woke up a few hours later feeling great. Actually I'm really not sure what that has to do with anything. I just thought it was funny
Yeah, sleeping the alcohol off really helps. One thing I noticed, too, now that I go to the gym quite often my post-drinking mornings have become much more bearable. In fact, sometimes I don't even notice a difference.
Ive never had a real hangover, which is damn surprising after some of the nights. Usually I wake up and feel amazingly motivated. And anytime something disturbs me right as I am about to be totally asleep, Im up for hours.
It's always the last step of some stairs for me. Half asleep, and then some steps, and I jump and wake.
How do you mean hallucinations? I mean, real true ones once awaked (aka with open eyes) or just psuedo-dreams? You know, I discovered waking me up early in the morning and getting back asleept _always_ causes me to dream...I often use that for fun! Didnt actually had any of the sympthoms you describe actually... I've got the cure for nightmares...At least it worked for me! You should try to recognize yourself while you dream that you are dreaming, and thinking to have a weapon in your hands and - ta - there it will be ^^! Its truly hard to do, but believe me it works. Sadly the whole thing then lasts no more than a few seconds (since once you get aware of dreaming you are waking up already) but its a funny experience. I kept on falling in my dreams (like from cliffs, houses, etc) waking up just a few millisecs before hitting ground (the classic nightmare), until one day I "convinced" me not to wake up. It was intresting. Now I dont have that kind of nightmares anymore.
yeah! I was wondering if anyone had this too. I get paralised sometimes, i try to move and wake up and i cant, i can just hear the sounds arround me. If i try real hard to move i feel like my head is gonna explode, it hurts, so i just let myself be until i wake up. Scary sht.
Well it is scary, but for me it happens when Im really tired or if I wake up like 3 or 4 hours later from sleeping,,then comes the sleep paralysis.I hate it everytime it happens. Also alot of so called alien abductions are associated with sleep paralysis, same thing goes for having a Out Of Body Experience, but each to there own.
Doesnt work for me, tried that lots of times. I almost always recognize a dream, unless I dont want to hah. Any time danger is coming, I can never get those special dream powers to work, though they will while im just having "fun" in the dream. Other times, its just a normal dream and I make the best of it, heck, I even played Tekken 6 already XD I was noticing all the details of the dream, like how the brain recreated the screen flicker and everything, and all the small details, and kept telling myself how awesome my mind was lol. Now that was weird.
Iv'e had sleep paralysis my whole life as far as I can remember. I'll "wake up" but be unable to move. I'll feel lke there is something 'evil' in the room that wants to kill me, sometimes I'll also hear weird sounds sort of like voices but not...it's hard to explain. I've got a partial solution though. If I sleep on my stomach instead my back I've never had it happen.
I presume under "fun" you understand "traditional" fun eh? Well you see you actually are using that already , maybe you just realize yourself having fear and dont actually get to imagine having (for example) some kind of weapon...Its not easy, you have to recognize really deeply that you have a gun, ie you have to do the opposite as the situation actually is (=not having fear but thinking about your gun). This is a good example of what you could do . Now you just have to remember to yourself to turn into a SSJ once a bad giant monkex (or whatever) runs after you
I was having this nightmare once and part of it I was walking along talking (in the third person) and suddenly I turned to....well the camera I guess  and said "Wait, this is a dream". Right there and then I woke up . Also am I the only one that actually enjoys nightmares? I always find it fun in the morning when you look back on it. Of course the nightmares that involve loved ones getting hurt and such really do effect you the next day lol.
that's how I had it stop too, sleeping on your stomach. I used to have a radio playing softly when I slept, so the first few times I had this happen, it sounded all deep and distorted, like the devil was talking or something. It's pretty scary the first time you have this happen, and I remember not wanting to sleep when I was a kid because of this. I actually remember getting freaked out and my heart racing getting me all sweaty. But once I found out what it was, it's nothing to me. I recognize what's happening during it now and just lay there, eventually you go back to sleep.
