I see my name was off the list after hours of finding pics of it!! :smt022 I see you missed the point of the action.... We put that there so you WOULDNT remove it... Soon we will have to have transparent watermarks all over the picture... Sad but not enough people know how to give credit.
I remember reading in some old gaming mag (Video Games & Computer Entertainment, I believe it was) that the "Ren & Stimpy" SNES game was originally planned for CD format, but was later converted to cart format. I'll see if I can dig that info up.
naaah i can't believe i left you out! let me check..... checking.... you're right! I'm really sorry i don't know how i could left you out! I'll add you on the next revision of the FAQ (already added on the 0.01c work in progress). I didn't do it on purpouse, i swear; i think the faq could be intersting even if no proof of the autenticity (sp?) of the thing ever surface or a nice reading for people on this forum if it proves to be a fake! By the way i'd love to see some other FAQs written about other not-well known parts of videogames history (i.e. i'd love to see a well made M2 FAQ wrote by some of the board's veterans). talking about veterans i would be onored if assembler or yakumo would came and drop a few lines. I think assembler said that the "thing" was offered to him too... I'd like to get a few more infos about that...
sorry for multiple posting, but i've found pulstech current e-mail and i'm trying to contact them... the mail is: soumu@pulstec.co.jp <- appears to be not working info@pulstec.co.jp if someone with japanese talking skills would try to contact them too... I'd love the help! url is http://www.pulstec.co.jp/Epulstec/
A case of a few ruining it for the rest I guess? Anyway, as I mentioned in my original post, I credit everyone who assists with my articles, and I plug there websites too. Its only fair really, if they've aided in the collecting of information. Though obviously I can't submit photos with logos all over them. My main gripe though is stuff like cover art for common games. It's not like that stuff is rare, yet most websites who have it put logos on it. VGmuseum doesn't, but mostly I need to find collectors to submit cover art scans, or do them myself. Anyway, this is going off topic, but I plan to get around to starting a thread... or two... asking if anyone wants to assist with some articles I'm working on (assuming the mods are ok with that). With full credit given of course. It should be fun. :ramen
Can't see any harm in that. Could be intresting A for the watermark thingy, I watermark some of my rare stuff because of bastards out there claiming it as their own work. I had a few people do that with videos that I had done too. Shenmue beta springs to mind. Luckily I had the last laugh with that one since the unwatermarked version had no audio plus missing frames Yakumo
a 500mb Shenmue beta by any chance? One that includes Ryo on a bicycle? A friend of mine who is trying to archive videogame adverts has those, archived on his site. Didn't say where he found them, but he's burning them to DVD and I should be getting them soon. Hopefully. Reckon it's the same videos? Anyway, you know I always fully credit you for any videos/images of yours I use.
He can because his English isn't very good. I was pretty much the same when I first started Japanese posting. Still Hi-Ricky, like Paulo said you should post a picture so we at least know what you are talking about. Yakumo
yes let those words out since his english is as good as a lady i know in Italy and she is not the best in english either but i will glady try hard to retranslate hirickys words since i feel and think i understand the words since my english is not the best either.
If you want a verifiable game in development for the SNES CD-ROM you can put The 7th Guest on the list. It was to be a launch title (and possible pack-in) for the system. At one point Nintendo had a demo ROM (one small part of one level) on a cartridge to show off what the game would look like running on SNES hardware. And no, I do not have a copy of the ROM in my possession. -hl718
I don't know if this is redundant info, but I have the EGM with the article and I remember it said the CDROM unit came with a special cartridge that needed to be in the SNES. This cartridge connected to the CDROM unit with a small cable. Not a very nice solution, but definitely necessary. Anyway, you can see that in the pictures provided with the FAQ, I justed wanted to boost about me still having that EGM!
