ahhi just sent them one....so we'll see...dont think they'll admidt to having worked or at least supplied for them
I did catch the same G4 icons episode, but I don't remember them saying "200 were completed", just several hundred. Although they didin't have the best facts, I have heard that many final units, not dev kits, were finished. But I do wonder if they were just the cd addon on or the standalone unit, but that may have occured later.. Anyways, I think I'll try to contact sony, which I don't believe anyone has tried. My chance may not be great, but by trying several outlets by buttering them up (asking how the greatest system ever was started) I think something might be found.
well, it wont work, sony, well hardly acknowlege that it ever happened let alone the fate of the several hundred units......sony america would be oblivious to what you speak of, and only the highest ex's at sony japan would know what really happened....although if you can kutarigi personal email address...lol
That's what I figured, but it's worth a shot, right? Maybe panasonic would be more willing to talk, or better yet NINTENDO:smt043
Just as funny as Sonic Team talking! I sent them a letter about what musical instrument was played in one of their Sonic DC games, a letter & email nearly half a year ago, and never got a response...
Im speaking of this unit : http://www.nintendoland.com/home2.htm?snes/snescdr.htm scroll down to the "Presentation" section, and you'll know what i'm talking about ^^.
How about adding a list of games tha were planned for the SNES? Maybe include a little info as to what happend to the game such as ported to SNES, Cancelled, ect.
well aside from 7th guest...thats the only game i know of, again, i think it was axed to early to really know what was in the pipeline for the system..any others guys?
Chrono trigger was said to be planned, as well some FF Edit: go to wikipedia and search for SNES, go to the bottom of the page and click on the link to a N-sider article on the CD, I don't have the proper extension in firefox to cut and paste links-and when I type it in the link goes straight to 404 error Just found the above link, and it's quite informative and has a short list of planned games. My understanding is that sony/imagesoft was well advanced into development for the system, as was several other developers. I would bet that most of the Imagesoft games were origionally for, or would be ported to the SNES CD like mickey mania, ect.(they were released on the SegaCD) And that leaves out the SFX games, I wouldn't be surprised if yoshi's story and stafox 2 were planned for CD
Thank you very much, I'm to lazy to try and fix mozilla... And how old is this article, as this is the first time I've seen it and wikipedia states that it was retrived on the 9th of this month
More than meets the eye? Ok, this is all little stuff, with probably no correlation to anything, but I thought I'd post it anyways. In some of the CGE2002 pics, there is a big yellow machine near the snes cd-rom drive. Its a "Computer Space" and was brought by a guy named Jerry Jessop (and no, he isn't the other guy pictured), unless several were brought, then I dunno. Anyhoo, not only is it in front of the drive, but he was an old co-worker of Dan Kramer's at Atari and also helped him get a job at Nyko and Nuby in '98. So they're sorta connected. He (Jerry) also is/was "a Hardware Licensing Supervisor for Sony." And he's sold hardware prototypes in the past too such as an Atari 2700. Perhaps the type of person who could possess a snes cd-drive prototype? Or the right type of person to sell one to someone?
