No wonder then why I skipped to the Dreamcast; there were indeed several interesting console exclusives but the 3D graphics were crappy on all three platforms. Granted the PC wasn't much better but back then it had plenty more genres to keep me occupied. We had Windows ports of Panzer Dragoon, Turok, Resident Evil, Wipeout etc. I think I missed out on the splitscreen fun of Goldeneye the most, but it wasn't a deal-breaker.
The XBOX ran on a p3.... guess how many bits that was. The Bit wars were pointless Did I just Write a Haiku?
Forgot about that thing. Problem solved. Why I left it out when mentioned the idea of breaking the 64MB barrier. That and they are rare as can be being a Japan only item. Xbox was next generation in my book. Came out around when the N64 finally died and was replaced by the Cube.
That wasn't really the point, you said the N64 was a lot more powerful because it was 64-bit, which doesn't really have much to do with how powerful a processor is (PC processors were 32-bit well into the 2000s)
I meant it was most powerful in 1996 for a game console. Sure a PC would have beaten it. Same goes for Xbox since it is basically a PC with custom BIOS and "OS". A rather under powered one too considering the P4 was getting shelved by then.
What? The P4 was still going strong in 01-02 when the Xbox came out, and PIII processors were more affordable and popular at the time.
at the time xbox graphics were on par with an average pc mainly due to it being an average pc lol, it was similar to what i was gaming on at the time PC wise, celeron 700mhz(p3) 64mb ram quickly beefed up by 256mb for operation flashpoint.
... I was talking 2004-2005 and was thinking of the Core Duo. But that was February 2006. Thought it was 2005. That's what I meant.
That's two strikes...Brony and anti 360... But you've been cool to me so we good. ANYWAYS now that I have a working to my liking laptop I can finally get back to work on import modding my N64. Should I attempt to snap the plastic (from the dead one) OR should I get a game shark and just use that as an import pass through?
Import modding an N64 is pretty easy. I'd say just go for it. A word of advice, though: do NOT try to melt the plastic with a soldering iron. It kinda works, but it's very messy, and you'll end up inhaling melted plastic in the process. Not ideal.
sharp serrated knife and being very careful of both your hands and the n64 internals. i use very sharp flexible professional kitchen knives for everything like that, although regularly cut myself lol(not in the emo attention seeking sense)
