I heard that the top end hikari fiber lines have a really crazy speed of 150MBPS ! Some how I can't see that being true and even if it was My PC would probably die  Yakumo
I fear the day that my network connection will have more bandwidth than my IDE drive's speed on UDMA5 :O Talk about a bottleneck
I imagine that download speeds in Japan are alot higher than both Europe and US. I hear you can download PSP demos crazy fast by Wifi over there. Over here in the US, I have ADSL and its quite fast. The main issue is the upload speed is only about 53kbytes/sec. Download is 200kbytes/sec which I'm sure isn't as fast as it could be. Still its fast and not that expensive. Also, I got a Wii today at Target. I just happened to call them Friday and found out they had Wiis for sale on Sunday (today). They said they'd have 20+. So I got up at 4:30am and headed over there and was there around 5am. It was just a few of us waiting in cars till 6 something, when one kid lined up. So then we all got out of our cars and lined up and waited a miserable hour in the cold (somewhere around 17 degrees F). Finally around 7:30 or later they handed out the line tickets they said they would hand out at 7am before. Went back to my car and warmed my freezing feet up. Oh yes, I was 2nd in line, right behind that kid that was first to stand standing out there by the door. Anyway, they ended up having like 28 Wii systems, and in the line there were maybe 18 people who got tickets. But shortly before they let us in, lots of people seemed to start showing up. But got, waiting for stuff sucks when it's cold.
If you mean 150 megabits per second, then it certainly is true I don't think consumer services are up to 1.2 gigabits (150 MiB/s) yet though heh I've been using a Japanese friend's FTTH FTP for a few years and it's really awesome, even though he has "only" ~7M/s upstream. In America we finally have FTTP (FTTH) through Verizon, unfortunately it's in extremely select areas but it costs less than cable and in some cases also deploys digital TV!
Oh well, I can already order 100 megabits, if I wanted right now through Danish Broadband Service, but right now I am fine with my T3 10 megabits up and down connection.
Let me guess you have Bredbaandsbolaget ? ;-) That was the name of DBN, before it changed name in DK.
It depends up on how close to the main provider you are. I live pretty close to mine while my friend witht he same service lives a few miles away. Needless to say he gets a slower speed than what I do. Still pretty fast but not as fast as mine. Yakumo
100 MB sounds like fibre, and not DSL or cable. I don't know the specifics, but it might not be as sensitive to proximity as the other two (although you're far less likely to actually have the service further away from the provider, due to overhead costs of laying the cable). DSL was the worst. I remember some 8MB Yahoo BB customers getting worse times than 1MB. I've got 30/10 Cable, and it's fast enough. I get 250kb/s on torrents regularly. In this day and age, w/ so much coming out of the states where infrastructure sucks outside of Universities, you're more at the mercy of the other end than your provider.
Oh, it is Bredbåndsbolaget then ? since you mentioned it was only one "a" character. Since if it is bredbandsbolaget then I am a bit baffled, since you do have åÅ in your alphabet..
if there's any neo Geo Game I'd love to see its definitely Waku Waku 7.. Tnere might be a good chance of this as SunSoft is a parnter for VC One of my fav fighters
I think i'll stick with my PS2 versions as they are better than the Dreamcast versions in general. I hope that the Neo Geo shooters come to the VC though, that would be great!
???? In what way? The PS2 version of Neo games are Dreamcast ports ! So in no way can they be better. Maybe the same or more likely worse like most of the DC ports to the PS2 or Game Cube. Yakumo
Well for starters they are not Dreamcast ports they were ported to the PS2 from the Neo Geo just like the DC.;-) Garou on the DC has sound problems and a few animations missing from the backgrounds and slightly smaller sprites. The PS2 version corrects these and it also has the arranged and original BGM which I think was missing from the DC port (the original BGM). PS2 version the closest to the Arcade. KOF 2002 has some moves missing in the DC port, again rectified in the PS2 port. In general the PS2 ports are considered the closest to the arcade, plus the DC only had a small number of Neo Geo ports compared to the PS2. Metal Slug 3,4,5 and 6, Fatal Fury collection, Real Bout collection, Art of fighting collection, KOF 2003, KOF collection, KOF 94, Samurai Showdown tenka etc were not ported to the DC. All the collection games are emulated and are excellent ports, although the Last Blade pack has lag issues. The DC ports are very good its just that the PS2 ones are a bit better, plus you can buy NEO GEO arcade sticks for the PS2 making it a much better system for Neo Geo games.
LOL So if anyone says anything is better on a Playstation console you get called a fanboy?... what a joke. Sorry for stating the facts. The neo geo community considers the PS2 games better so I guess they are all PS2 fanboys too. Stuff I mentioned like Garou on the DC has sound problems isnt a fanboy comment, it's just a fact i'm afraid. I would like to know which parts of my posts sound like a PS2 fanboy, because I can't see it. The joys of the internet....
Ports suck. You lose too. Muwhahaha. Everyone spend 600$ on a NeoGeo AES and Garou! =) I actually thought of buying the PS2 Garou port, but the price is fucking ridiculus. If I spend that much money I'd buy the MVS cart and fuck the PS2. I didn't buy that MVS for nothing. ;p
