ide like to see sega declare the dreamcast an open platform
and release full details on the HW and SW SDK and make the SW open source
and allow the Dreamcast to go back into production without license

slightly off topic ide love to see the Master system Mega drive Sega CD 32x and Saturn as well as the Game Gear also all be open platform and open source

much like Hasbro did with the Jaguar except they just declare it an open platform and let people run wild

I have heard this before but it doesn't seem to actually be true. All DreamCast systems except some on Japan apparently will load CD-Rs. And as such I think the overwhelming majority of DreamCast systems will run these games.

They mean MVS and AES. The homebrews are always available on carts for Neo Geo afaik.

As far as the thread´s question goes... I don´t think homebrewers ever claimed their game to be the last one. They are well aware of each other and what´s being developed.
If anyone gives such a game the "last" moniker it´s probably someone who doesn´t know much about homebrews and just stumbled upon the release being amazed that something new is published for an old console at all.

Got my pre-order in for the GunLord 'Dragon Box' Ltd Edition. It look like a fun game but not something I'd spend €419 on for the AES version.

The Dreamcast is once again becoming my favorite system. I'm playing more Soul Calibur than anything lately

I think there are a few ports of old FPS games for the DC. I believe there's a Quake port as well as a Doom port (if you can call Doom "3D"). I think there may even be a Quake II port, but I'm not sure.

Well I do give you shit for you Sony Lobbying but hey it's just forum shit talking nothing personal.

I can't think of too many Dreamcast games that have aged as well as Soul Calibur, DOA 2 maybe Ikaruga of course and inspite of people shitting on it now I still think Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 play great 10+ years later
