    no hard feelings

Crazy Taxi has aged quite well too shenmue still looks good and the full interactivity makes that game series fun as hell after 10 years and will be fun when its 20 years old

hell even giest force looks fantastic for 1999

Port an iPhone app that makes farting noises in 2020. Bam, new "last" Dreamcast game.

    Until someone ports Angry Birds.

    Uhhhh... Shenmue? C'mon.

I believe you're thinking of Quake III Arena. There were some homebrew efforts too, though.

I would literally punch a hole in my wall if someone ported Angry Birds to DC.

ONLY if it's Crazy Taxi with Offspring not that shit SEGA is trying to pass off as Crazy Taxi now.

Shenmue looks good now yeah but as a sandbox game, more amazing things have been done since. I suspect Shenmue would be alot like Assassin's Creed if it were made today.

I don't think any modern game comes close to the immersion of Shenmue. In what other game can you buy batteries and milk and play Hang On?

True, I really think Assassin's Creed is the closest to Shenmue any game has gotten.

but you can't play Hang on in Shenmue.

Then again you can't stab random people in Shenmue like you can in Assassin's Creed (and there are MORE than a few people in Shenmue I'd randomly stab)

"Ryo I think there's a really good capsule toy about to come out of the..."

    STAB

By the way they used the Shenmue version of Hang on is used in Yu Suzuki Gameworks, dunno if anyone noticed that or not.

sure theres alot better sandbox games out there
but shenmue was one of the first to completely encase you in the world and it looks good doing it

You know what burns me more about the removal of the Offspring tracks and original branding? That they changed the voice of the guy who says ''Take me to the church!'' Maybe it's just me but in the DC original it sounds like it's a black guy saying it but in every other version it sounds like a weedy white guy.

Anyone else ever noticed this and/or have any thoughts on it?

Back on topic, really looking forward to Sturmwind but not so much Gun Lord, it just doesn't reach out and 'grab' me.

The music was enough to make me say NO and then boot up my Dreamcast and play the real Crazy Taxi.

    Strumwind does look great

I need to buy more blank CDs I just got ahold of Propeller Arena and BLEEMcast

Well, if you mean polygonal games, Sturmwind is (very impressive) 3D and Fast Striker was a mix of 3D with 2D. Both shoot´em ups.

Heh, the funny thing is that Under Defeat had some message on the case saying something like, "This game celebrates the end of the Dreamcast."

Then there was Karous or whatever it was called.

Which was the one that was "the last" since GD-ROMs were going out of production?

Yeah, Karous was definitely the last, in 2007.

I'm glad the GDrom releases went out with a cool looking cel shaded shooter, and not with some random highschool romance dating game.

Maybe I'm wrong, and frankly it doesn't matter that much since the game graphics just looks pretty awesome, but from watching the videos, I think a lot of the 3Dness of this game is prerendered animation a la donkey kong country for snes. The dreamcast has some particular ways of drawing geometry with triangles, and none of the large 3D objects look much like this style. (They also look really smooth and high polygon)

Karasu isn't cell shaded. Jet Set radio is but karasu isn't plus it's a fucking ugly looking game. I see it as a Goth Rajirugi cash in. Basically it's the same game with a few new twists and Goth look. All of Milestones Dreamcast games look turd actually with Chaos Seed being the only one to look OK.

I fully agree, besides if they would make it today, the game would prolly be the size of half a country with every street & road scanned in; which is considerably larger than anything I've ever seen lately, just like it was in the day

    What a circular thread.

Hadn't heard of Gun Lord until now. Looks fun, though I think the graphics could have been a little more detailed.
