Well kinect is officially sold out here in the states if you just want the camera unit. The bundles with the 360 are everywhere. Went by my local frys electronics to browse tonight and they had Kinect on display with Dance Fever or whatever its called. Nobody was touching it. And it was right in the front of the store on a 70 inch tv. So wondered around abit in the store and came back and there was a women in her 40s playing it with a small crowd watching. The women after 5 min immediately stopped playing and stepped to the side with her husband. They just simply watched the rest of the game play out without her input. The crowd dispersed. Now the Dance game is pretty much the best game for Kinect right now and its launch week on a Friday night. And nobody was touching the thing or cared. I'm pretty sure Kinect will be a huge seller but in terms of accesiblity its just not the Wii. Theres something about looking like a total fool as opposed to waving a wand around still looking like a respectable human being that makes a difference.
That's not saying much. Back when the Wii first launched I went down to my local HMV. They had a big set-up on a busy Saturday, and everyone was just walking past the thing. Never judge the reaction of people in public.

Judging by the way Kudo dresses and presents himself, theres probably heavy drug use there. Hes also wrong, as mario brothers takes considerable gaming skill to complete while none of the kinect games take such skill.
I'm waiting for FPS for Kinect where you'll have all the jackasses trying to teabag (and all the emergency room visits that occur as a result).
I'm interested in the technology, but i don't own a 360. I will not buy a 360 just to be able to use/test kinect, so i will stay with my ps3 and move (don't own a wii either).

I'm guessing i'm the only one who actually enjoys Kinnect. I got mine today and i set it up in my small study hoping at would work and actually it's not bad at all. Only too 1.8 meters and the camera seems to work fine even in the low light settings of the room. Kinnect Adventures does get boring after a while though but it will have to do till the local store get's my Kinnectimals LE in.

The delay is terrible on the American Football game. Wow. Does anyone have one of these yet here? Can you comment on whether this lag is typical? I wonder why they are charging so much? It would seem to me that they would want to get it in as many homes as possible. Regardless, I reckon it will be huge.
I don't have that football game, but with Kinnect Adventures and Kinnectimals there is a very slight ( less then a second but still noticable) delay between your input and what the game character does. As to them charging 3x the parts costs is quite simple, they invested $500 million in Kinnect developement,promotion etc so they want to recoup that as fast as possible, basicly pulling a Nintendo.
Or an Apple for that matter. Seriously people, companies invest large sums of money for R&D. Things like development and planning don't come for free. That said, I have no problem paying 3X the bill of materials for something that I personally deem innovative. Those who complain need to get a job so they can see just how corporations operate. Either that or stop living in a dreamworld.
Im not going to buy it untill they find out whats wrong with it,they said it had something to do with light levels.
