It's sad but true. This is probably why it got such high ranks from major publications. They never house a pro of any one genre... just casual gamers that try a little bit of everything. Nothing wrong w/ that type of person... until they pick up the pen, that is.

More ridiculous is that it's an unlockable/purchasable/whatever in Phantasy Star Online, and people would actually play it. O_O

I live in Barcelona, and the arcades are dead, so, no I didn't played it seriously. Virtua Fighter 5 could be "worse" than 4, but still is the best one right now, and I like Eileen

Back on topic, I'd agree with Yakuza 1/2 (let's hope 3 as well) are the last great games from Sega. I'm looking forward to Valkyria Chronicles when that hits in a few weeks. Outrun 2006 C2C is awesome as well.

Sega are definitely improving. Acquiring small creative studios here and there (shame it didn't work out with their UK rally team) but expect good games from Platinum Games and Creative Assembly, and they're rumoured to be publishing the Conduit so hopefully that'll be good too. I agree with Segafreak_NL that people are decidedly harsh on Sega, given that the company barely has any of the talent that defined its quality output during the 80s and 90s.

They do need to make a freeroaming sandbox game to reel in the masses. If THQ could do it with Saints Row why not Sega? That's an interesting thought.
