Hi, I hope this is the right sub-forum. I had tried to send these to ultimateconsoledatabase.com initially, but the E-Mail adress there is kinda weird(it ends with a _) and I didn't get a reply, so I don't know if he got the mail. Is that site still updated actively? This forum was mentioned in some of the descriptions, and I figured maybe I could post them here. Most of the following clones are not in the database (at least not with the same label), some others have better pictures. These have all been sold and advertised in Korea, but I'd say that they all come from Taiwan, maybe except the Batman and one or two others, but I'm not sure about them, either. Batman Ending Man S-300 Ending Man S-500 Electronic Game System 2 Family Game NTD-103 This is one of the Asder models featured on UCD, but I think it's more recognizable on this picture. DJ-Boy Advertised as DJ-Boy, even though the console reads just "Built In-22". It might say DJ-Boy on the controllers, it isn't quite readable. Magic Boy The console itself is boring, but I kinda like the design of the gamepads. Micro Genius IQ 301 Turbo Just one more Micro Genius Model Super Magic Boy Now perfectly boring Game World JA-001 This series starts out very standard but grows more independent with subsequent models: Game World JA-003 Game World JA-004 Two pics, since both photos are kinda bad and I couldn't decide which one to upload. Finally, for now, the good boy series (The Good Boy 1 is on UCD, AB Standard 8-Bit looks like a re-packaging of the Good Boy 5 with different controllers) Good Boy 1 Good Boy II Good Boy 5 Packages Good Boy 4 through 6. Super Boy Mega Boy Mark II Dunno whether this belongs into the series This was in a price/features comparison in a magazine in 1993 and just referred to as "Wireless Family" (Wireless meaning here that it doesn't need a cable to the TV), but it carries the Good Boy logo as well. That's it for now. I'll have images of about 50 more in a few months to show, some manufactured in Korea, and even a handful awesome ones.
Thanks very much for all the images. I love looking at these things. The consoles like Ending Man S-500 are so ugly yet kind of attractive in a Famicom/Mega Drive mutant type of way. The Good Boy 5 is pretty cool as well. Sort of looks like Knight Rider  The DJ Boy is repulsive though yet I still want one Yakumo PS: The owner of UCD is a member here. You want to PM Hawanja
Those are some really old clones! New ones are a dime a dozen but the old ones at least has interesting designs.
Hah very interesting, I haven't seen most of these before. The antenna on some of them is an interesting feature. I guess it also works as a radio?
Hah even more unexpected. I wouldn't mind having one of these just to see how it works and what its made up of inside. Though, I wouldn't pay any large amount of money for one.
The oldest would be the Micro Genius. It was one of the first Famiclones to appear in Korea in late 1988. Good Boy 1 is early 1990. The Game World consoles are all from the same advertisement in Mid-1990, with the JA-004 labeled as "new". NTD-103 was advertised summer 1991, but it could be older. Good Boy 2 is fall 1991, the Ending Man and DJ Boy ads come from the same magazine issue, but at least some of them have to be older. System 2 is also very old, but I can't find the photo I cut it out from anymore. The rest is late 1992-1994. I noticed I also got a picture of the System 3. Korean release was early 1989. The image quality is similarly bad as on the System 2 pic (I took those before I knew I would be collecting famiclone images), but at least the name of the manufacturer/publisher is almost readable... Seniton or Semiton, has anyone heard that before?
Haha cool pics!! You can take a look in here: http://www.start-game.com/wiki/index.php?title=Category:Famiclones We have documented 121 famiclones by now, articles are in spanish though, anyway not much to say about 99% of them There are some weird ones and a few with cases resembling an SNES, DC, XBOX, etc. A few examples: Skycube Dynacom Handy Vision Beta 5: And so on
Wow, nice pics, didn't know many of them! BTW, I'm pretty sure the S-500 clone shares the same design with another clone called Terminator 2, with the only difference that the S-500 has an RF antenna. Terminator 2 S-500 clone
I love the box on that Terminator 2 clone. No shame what so ever. The SD logo is especially clever. Draw your own "S" then flip the Mega Drive logo's "D" upside down. I'd buy one of them if I came across one. Very cool unlike today's plastic crap. Yakumo
I collect clones, I must have near 40 by now. The good boy stuff is hard to get, as are the korean made ones.
In fact the plastic in this one isn't the best. A friend of mine had one of those Terminator 2 clones and I must say I was dissapointed about the quality of the controls. They were comfortable from what I can remember, but both got some piece broken after a month. The rest of the console wasn't that bad, worked pretty well for some years.
Well at least it would have real hardware inside unlike all the clones today which are just one little blob of eproxy covering a chip.
Really great stuff, mate. Does the ending man not look like an Atari 7800? Man, I love this thread so much.
the only cart i still have in my possession: Super Mario 5 is actually SM2, the only noticable difference is Mario name is misspelt - Merio sorry about the poor quality xD
