How come there's pirates like that with both the epoxy blobs AND regular rom chips? I don't understand why they don't only use the blobs if it's supposed to be more cost efficient.
not sure, perhaps because there's 4 games in the one i posted above(?) from what i remember, the pirate carts with a single newer NES game (that i've come across) have all had 3 blobs, the multi-game carts a-la 9999in1 with older games, have had only one blob. a childhood friend of mine had a cart with atleast 20 games. his dad bought it in Russia and i remember the IC was the size of the yellow plastic case (height and width) with chips and blobs all over. it was so heavy... i tried to buy it off him so many times, in vain... :/ never saw another one with that many games

Some more stuff: There's a series called GB Turtle, most of them are obviously Good Boys with a new label, like this one: However, one has a different shape than all the known Good Boy consoles so far, although it shares similarities with the Good Boy 4. Maybe it's based on the still missing Good Boy 3? Who knows... Super King: A new pic of the "Batman", showing its actual name being Family Computer II (not readable on the photo here, but on the original ad) The Ending Man S-700 is on the UCD, but that picture there doesn't show its antenna. It also makes sense that this was distributed in Korea, as the official version of the NES there was based on the North American version as well.
I have a working Terminator but no joystick just a broken one and i am trying to fix it and I have a bunch of others with the same connector but they don't work with it. Soon i am going to make some videos and tomorrow i will show some pics of it ( sorry but it is not in perfect condition) oh and also i remember the back of the box it had screenshots of some NES games ( some of them were on the cartrige witch came with it ( i still have it after 10 years in perfect condition)
A new unit, the Ssaga: And a better image of the Super Magic Boy: Also, there's no more than one month left until I drop a famiclone bomb (and some other bombs, as well).
Here's a pic I took about a year and a half ago from a clone from a lot I bought, this must be the strangest clone I've ever found but not because of the design (a N64 shaped clone isn't that original), but because it has 4 controller ports: First I thought that only the first two controller slots were actually connected to the console, but when I opened it I found that I was wrong. I still had no chance to fix it, but when I get a new soldering iron I'll try to fix it only to see what's the deal with the two additional ports... Here's a horribly blurry picture of its guts:
There's two possibilities - either it has basically a multitap soldered in, or two go into one at one time...
The second one sounds more probable, but I guess I won't be sure about it until I put it to work. AFAIK the video circuit board is the problem, I have to change it for a working one from any of my other clones, but it'll have to wait until I get a decent soldering iron and enough free time to replace it.
Yes there is a Famicom 4 player adapter. It plugged into the expansion port and allowed two more controllers.
For a change here's one I actually got my hands on. I've bought me one of those "educational computer" famicom clones, the LittleCom by Asder Korea. It comes with a 64-in-1 cartridge and this 170-page manual. Of course it had to be a pink one. I'm so lucky. Besides the multigame cart, there are three games accesible from the main menu (which boots up when no cartridge is inserted. There's this shooter, a Pang clone and a Sokoban clone. The copyright for this says 1991, so it can't have been made for this machine (which was sold in 1997). This is listed as "English Trainer", but it's actually a whack-a-mole game where you have to hit the keys the moles have written on their helmets. Not knowing it comes with a cartridge, I also bought this pirate Soccer cartridge to test it.
I've never seen or heard of one. There's SNES/NES combo clones out there with S-Video, but the S-Video is only ever for the SNES part.
Yup that's strange. But look at this board: http://s2.noelshack.com/uploads/images/985776682473_100_2834.jpg Can't see soemthing strange ? Look: http://s2.noelshack.com/uploads/images/13492607644296_100_2832.jpg There's a globtop under a flash chip :-0 I don't have any famiclone but I'll get one soon.
