    Check this out guys!

This dev is amazing! This is something we do not see every day.

    http://dreamcast-news.blogspot.com/2015/09/volgarr-viking.html

I thought this was a joke.

    Edit: New version released.

    Version History:

    2015-10-13:

    * (Taron) Added support for Achievement and Records tracking
    * (Taron) Fixed World 4 Boss Theme music sometimes not playing
    * (Taron) Added support for graphics clip rects (scissor test), to hide elements that aren't supposed to be visible (most notably the treasure pile being visible under the floor in the Home Base room).
    * (Taron) Fade out between maps is now properly fading to/from Black instead of White
    * (Taron) Swapped the order of the Water and Undead worlds to restore the original intended order of those Worlds (they are only out of order on other platforms due to late tester feedback and they were never swapped back due to not wanting to mess up Leaderboard scores, which doesn't apply here).

    2015-08-21:

    * (Taron) Fixed music not playing when level restarts after player dies
    * (Taron) Added support for pitch-shifting sound effects
    * (Taron) Fixed music volume level balancing not being applied
    * (Taron) Added support for music loop-back points

Not just some guy, this was done with permission from the games developers and source code access,
it was also originally a PC/Mac game released on steam, gog and the like, the xbone version came later.

The DC port is quite surprising as it has a full options menu and what i assume is all the content from the original game,
hard for me to check since it is an incredibly difficult game.
Also runs at 480i or 480p depending on the cables you use, no 240p sadly. Works on gdemu.

Here's the site the DC port is officially hosted on http://volgarr.rkd.zone

Well, all I can say is this is a really good game. We must thank them for this. I would say this is a game worth buying, as it is top tier graphically.

That's really cool he ported it onto the DC. I bought it on Steam awhile back and enjoyed it alot. Thanks for making a thread about this. Hadn't a clue it was released for Dreamcast as well now.

Works on the UGC, but the lid switch being used crashes the game.
(basically don't open the lid when playing the game)

Yeah so this and started sharing on FB yesterday.... was very awesome to see.

I think we should give positive feed back to Crazy Viking Studios on their FB and Twitter and even ask for them to allow ports like this to keep happening.

On a side note, Anthony817, weren't you once a reg on snesorama before it died? I seem to remember you being pretty active in the DC section for a couple of years. I think FamilyGuy was also a reg poster over there. I used a different nic on that site, but I was pretty active from it's earliest days in DC scene as well. I fell out of the scene few years ago, but cool to see some faces I recognize from those days.

Yeah I used to be active over there years back. I was a regular at tiz too but left that place and branched out to be more active in places like this. Btw what was your name there? I remember how much of a character CoCo was there haha.

I had bought the game when it was released on Steam, it's really nice but difficult. Nice to see it on DC , thanks for the heads up!

I wasn't really active on snesorama, but I helped some users with selfbooting and putting Shenmue II releases out there.

This Völgarr game seems very nice! I think I'll buy it on steam, since it's only available for free on DC!

Yeah It is but I don't go there hardly ever now.

Anyways this game is really fun. I must admit it is very hard to play but you should go into the options and enable the toggle for zooming the view out and that way you can see further ahead of you and anticipate enemy's better. I find doing that and throwing spears before I engage the blue guys is easier than rolling and slashing the sword.

I use to go by StreetTrash over there. I mainly used megaupload like alot of others at the time, so after it died pretty much killed everything. Ah, yeah CoCo was awesome actually lol. I don't really frequent it anymore either, but it was a great place for Dreamcast at the time.

Yeah I should probably also edit the OP with a link to the Dreamcast site for the game. It is hosted by somebody privately so it should be up for a while, but they didn't update that page with the new build yet.

    http://www.dreamcast-talk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=7584

This link should always have the latest version posted with working links on the first page of the thread.
