If this is true, it's pathetic. Prototype is certainly not the word for it if it's identical to the PRG0 US dump. It's just a test/sample cart. Absolutely nothing to do with development. But it's been pointed out that the US version is a port of a completed game anyway. Plus it would be very easy to fake exactly what you see in the pictures assuming you can get a hold of that color plastic cart. But chances are the buyer will never pay up. Atleast I'd hope not.

Honestly, I wouldn't care if this was only the first line of code on an EPROM. I'd never, ever spend 55K on any video game item. Even if it was XBOX related, even though I love the system a lot.

Even if you had 1 billion dollars? Why not? 55k would be what you make in interest per hour. You don't wanna spend an hours pay on video games?

People spend way more money on much more pointless things. A Zelda prototype cart with a sealed Zelda for 55k ranks as a good purchase for a rich guy in my book. Look at this:

It's just a printed Fireman joke on a canvas. It sold for $110,500 at Sotheby's recently. Or take a bottle of Romanee Conti wine... they sell for up to $22,000 PER bottle! And those aren't bottles from 1890, they are from 1990. 55,000 for a unique prototype of a contemporarily important video game from 1986 sound pretty good all of a sudden? :D

Spend as much time finding a job as you do on here and your wish will be reality.

you mentioned your situation in another thread and i agree with the above comment, you can do more to help yourself, you seem to have a rather defeatist attitude of "i have this and it means i cant do anything but sit at my computer and go online" and im sorry but i know people in a similar situation to yourself and they can lead a relatively normal life so i dont see why you can't, even if you are limited by what jobs you can get etc. you can still get something

If you had a billion bucks you'd be naked in a veryon getting a bj from a model. Not collecting nes carts.

I'M IN THE MIDDLE OF FUCKING NOWHERE DUDE!!! 30 MILES FROM ANY CIVILIZATION WITH NO CAR!! AND I DO HAVE A "JOB" OF SORTS! It just doesn't pay money...

You have no idea as to what your talking about. I've had like 30 jobs in 6 years and got fired from all but 3 of them. They didn't care about my "mental problem". They just thought I was a weirdo and literally said "GTFO!"

wow firstly, calm the fuck down

if your in the middle of nowhere then you either have to travel or you move (travel can involve: train, bus, a lift, taxi etc.) - very simple

and actually i work in the education industry and we have students with various learning disabilities so i do know what the fuck i am talking about thanks and you are not the only person with this condition, from your attitude in your reply i can see why your having problems, you need to calm down and stop taking things as if people are having a go at you, let me make this 100% clear, i dont know you, dont really care either but i was trying to offer you some advice that your attitude is probably half of whats holding you back

Ok so you have had 30 jobs in the past 6 years and you say you got fired from all but 3 - well what happened with these 3? did you quit? if you did then you cant complain about not having a job if you are willing to give one up (well 3 but thats not the point) - and yes they may have been shitty jobs you left because they were treating you like shit or not appreciating the work you do? - welcome to the world thats exactly how jobs are, 90% are shit and your employer will take you for everything you got

if you honestly feel that you are not able to hold down a normal job then you should be contacting various support groups in your area who will help you to find a suitable job (thats how it works here and from what i am told it should be the same in the U.S.) or assist you in taking up some courses that will help give you skills that you can take to the workplace, admittedly you may not get your dream job but A job is better than NONE!!!

p.s. if people think you are a weirdo then thats their fucking problem, fuck em they aint worth your time and dont let it get to you!

Time to make your dev team strip naked and sweat. You can then collect the sweat and evaporate the salt out of the solution and sell it for cooking.

Except that this cartridge is not a prototype. It's in a NOA yellow test cart with an eprom mmc1 board with 4 eproms containing the exact retail binary apparently. It has nothing to do with development of the game. You could make your own if you can get a hold of the MMC1 EPROM board needed, and a yellow cartridge. For all we know, that's exactly what this guy did. Now an actual prototype of Zelda was found and dumped for the Famicom Disk System. It's far more relevant/special.

But yes if you're super rich I guess you don't care about pissing away money.

since its not an actual prototype you would think the value would rest solely on it being different and being produced at a time before the retail release and the fact its obviously zelda (which like resident evil etc. automatically makes something more expensive), no code changes that we are aware of, which makes it a spectacular high price for a piece of memorabilia, considering the resident evil GBC went for $2000 i think we got a bargain if this is the kind of price a retail game in a different cart case fetches

The person who brought up that technically its only a port of the famicom disk system game on that cartridge and not even a devolpment build really does show the person that bought it was not familiar with the devolpment and release of these games back in 1986. I bet the buyer is some investment banker in New York who is looking for some retro museum piece to show at cocktail parties.

Kev, you know you'd still be buying the same shit you already do :p lol

Umm, go and look at the difference between a NES cart and a GameBoy cart. Pokemon didn't come out on the NES or SNES, it was GameBoy and Nintendo 64 was the first console a Pokemon game was released for.
