Christan whitehead is truly a tallented fellow. absolutely thrilled, a real dream come true. 10/10. What are your thoughts here asmg? _ Just made it to oil ocean zone, will give more of a detailed opinion soon.
I love it, although i just wish there was an extra original level or two. Hope it gets a sequel with all original levels Love the Chemical Plant act 2 boss lol
It's an amazing game. It's A dream come true. The Sonic game we've all been wanting for since 1994. No one can say this is a bad game, even the most hardcore Mario fan boy could not. This is a game that puts a smile on your face.
There's so much Sonic history crammed into this game, every time I see a little nod to the past I smile. This is exactly the game that comes after Sonic 3&K, even the graphics are tuned up to a gorgeous Sega Saturn level. This is a beautiful collaboration of Sega and some talented, dedicated fans that basically ended up as perfect as we could ever hope for.
I'm interested in it, and I might buy it, but they've delayed the PC version. So I'll have to wait, since I don't own any newer consoles. I'm not in a big hurry to get it anyway; I have a lot of other games to play.
Flying Battery is giving me problems. Dat Chemical Plant boss. Who they Got to COMPILE the stages......
I've never been the biggest 2D Sonic fan, but thought I'd give this a go on the Switch as there's still not too much available yet, and I'm pretty impressed. It's hands down the best 2D Sonic game I've played, which for many people would make it the best Sonic game ever.
Ended up getting the switch version for convenience and must say best $20 I've spent in a long time. The small group who worked on this game really understood what made sonic work and it's a complete love letter to the series as well as sega's past. It's been so long since I've played a new game for more than 2 hour straight. The artwork in this game is gorgeous along with a fantastic soundtrack. If it gets a physical release I'll buy it again I like this game that much. Can't wait till my soundtrack on vinyl comes in from data discs.
Ran through the whole game, switch version, using sonic and tails. Still need to collect all of the medals and get al of the chaos emeralds. I only got 2 chaos emeralds my first playthrough. I thought that the levels and bosses aren't very challenging but that the special stages are pretty difficult. Great level design, both in the reimagined and original stages. Plays EXACTLY like the 2D sonic games, which is what I think the majority of sonic fans wanted in a new game. Not my favorite 2D sonic game. I put it ahead of the original, but still behind 2 and 3&K. I would still give it a 5/5, this is the game we truly have waited for since 1994.
That Metal Sonic fight is Frustrating. There are a lot of really frustrating moments in this game. Flying battery, the special and bonus stages, the Metal sonic fight. The Mini boss in Studiopolus zone.
Yeah, i had a lot of trouble with Metal Sonic too. But it's alot easier after i figured out to spindash into the mini metal sonics when they are spinning up. Hits 95% of the time
FBZ was my bitch! Actually even though it was a tad confusing at times I found it a lot of fun. Metal Sonic isn't that bad once you figure out how to hit him (unless someone is interrupting you every 2 god damned minutes, lol).
I'm determined to beat Metal Sonic now... Hydrocity zone is next weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
All sonic games are like that. It's nit frustrating once you figure out what to do. I was also stuck on Metal Sonic at first until I figured out what to do. After that it was quite easy. I'm not surprised. After all, every new Super Mario game reuses loads of game stages and ideas. Plus the last few have had dull graphics and music. Yet people love them. With that in mind Sonic Mania is a LSD trip.
I enjoyed the reimagined stages, especially the Chemical Plant and Oil Ocean zones. Some of the other choices baffled me, but were stil very good. I thought the new zones were great, would've liked to see more new zones. Reimagined zones I would like to see continuing forward in future sonic games of this style: Sonic1: Marble Zone Sonic 2: Aquatic Ruin, Casino Night Sonic 3 and Knuckles: Angel Island, Marble Garden, Carnival Night
Yeah, although I found Sonic CD to be quite easy off the bat. I'm up to Mirage Saloon the part you jump on the train confused me...but we shall see. I hope DLC is in the works I want more.
