Ive had some RGB to HDMI adapters as well. Also not good. There is a reason why good hardware costs good money.

Okay guys ! I'll keep this short but sweet.
Here Sonic can run around and have some fun in this now famous area. (I like to call it the Gold Tile level myself, as the name is referenced in the .def code)
Its running in version 37 Engine/Editor which does not seem to have Fisheye functions.
    Enjoy !

Man, thats very exciting! I actually didn't know that there was a playble version of this level, i always though it existed only as CG for the E3 trailer XD

If you look at the Section of video carefully, ( check it out frame by frame! behind the CG spinslash overlay you can see the playable sonic character peeking out from behind the spines. ;p

by that you mean you can actually play the game and destroy enemies or you can just walk around and do infinite jumps like in the video you uploaded

The NTSC Cartdev is here and seems to work fine.

During the holidays I will do some work on the Saturn code and see if I can get some screenshots from the running hardware.

The code hangs after a very short time, seemingly due to an infinite loop waiting for the VDP1 to complete drawing the frame, lots of work to do to make this stable...

I can't wait to see any more screenshots. Seeing that Gold Tile level in partial action is amazing. Thanks again for all the hard work! Very gracious to work on all this during the hectic holiday season.

Hey guys its update time ! Lets all stand up and cheer!
JollyRoger has the game up and running on Sega Saturn cart Dev hardware here.
Sonic can not run around yet, but yeah that's being worked on.

Other news: As of right now, Only one level is compatible with the Saturn build so far (Its a Version 040 def file which supports extra directional slopes that are not found in the rest of this leak, These slopes can be found in the newer version levels from HXC's older leak.

I've had a good look threw of each .def file when rebuilding the levels for AXSX ( im completely finished with the rebuilding btw), and To me it "looks" like it may be an easy task to get some of the other levels we have like Gold tile stage (def ver 037) converted so that the Saturn version engine can read them.

Sonic X-treme on Saturn Cartdev hardware.

    That's awesome news andrew75.
It's nice to know there will be something playable at the end of this. Much more than I ever thought we'd see of Sonic Xtreme.

Has it inspired you for your PC remake?

As said on the other forum, awesome work JollyRoger!

Thanks for the update too :)

Also when you say it might be possible to port other levels we have - does that in any way mean it maybe possible to import 'new' levels into the Saturn engine?
(apologies if that's a stupid question - I'm pretty clueless about programing etc).
