Fact says it doesn't (in next gen) I owned a ps3 once and I couldn't find one game I wanted to play that wasn't on the xbox 360 nor did the exclusives other then metal gear look even close to apealing.
In terms of exclusives, yes it does. It's just the profile of the games is less because the majority of the exclusives are not franchises, they are new designs.
Um... actually, I just counted them (for the US anyways), and even with me giving Sony shit thats coming out in 2 years like Singstar 2, White Knight Chronicles, MAG, and Motorstorm 2, the 360 (in which I counted stuff up to Christmas of '08) still has more exclusives with the count being 48-25. Now, I didn't count arcade games, and I did count games for the 360 that are also on the PC. If I did take away the games that are also on PC, it would be 36-25. Now... I'm just a mathematician here... but last time I checked, 48 was bigger than 25 and 36, while smaller than 48, is also bigger than 25. No clue on how it works including Japan stuff though. But, personally, I would kind of laugh at that comparison, because then you would be comparing the 360s insane 2D shooter library to like, a bunch of dating sims on PS3.

But still, big difference there. -_^
Big difference when you miss out half of the titles, sure. Here is a list of PS3 exclusives: -Afrika -Angel Rings -Buzz! TV Quiz -DC MMO -EyeDentify -Eye of Judgement -Fifth Phantom Saga -Final Fantasy Versus XIII (Confirmed) -Folklore -Formula One -Full Auto 2: Battlelines -Genji: Days of the Blade -God of War 3 -Gradius -Grand Turismo 5 -Gretzky NHL -Haze -Heavenly Sword -Heavy Rain -Hot Shots Golf 5 -Infamous -Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier -Killzone 3 -Lair -Little Big Planet -MAG -Metal Gear Solid 4 -Mobile Suit Gundam -Motor Storm -Motor Storm 2 -My Singstar -Ni-Oh -Ninja gaiden sigma -Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction -Redwood Falls -Resistance: Fall of Man -Resistance: 2 -Ridge Racer 7 -Shin Megami Tensei -Sing Star -Sing Star 2 -Siren: Blood Curse -Sly4 -Socom4 -Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection -Tekken 6 -The Agency -The Getaway -Time Crisis 4 -Twisted Metal -Uncharted: Drake's Fortune -Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom -WarDevil Enigma -Warhawk -White Knight Story -Wipeout HD -Yakuza 3 I could continue, but the only reason I bothered was to prove a point. Supposedly Ace Combat 6 is being ported to the PS3.
Ninja Gaiden Sigma doesn't count since it's a port/upgrade of an xbox game Gradius is coming to Wiiware not PS3 Ok lets narrow these lists down even more. How many of these exclsuives are GOOD?
My original point is that the PS3 has more exclusives coming than the Xb360, which is correct. The Xb360 is losing momentum in preparation for the next console, the PS3 is gaining it. Both machines are excellent IMO, but this thread needs a counter balance. Take away the two GoH mentions and you still have over 50, and I missed out a lot of sports games, PSN stuff (since we exclude arcade titles), and projects that do not have a formal name yet but are internal SCE games (Team ICO, etc). A fair number of XB360 titles are PC games too, presumably GeOW will be too.
I think I made it pretty clear there buddy, that my list was for stuff thats already out and to some extent stuff going in to Christmas. In fact, I even tried to be nice to Sony and added some stuff that God only knows when its coming out. You're just listing everything ever announced or hinted at being announced for the PS3. But if you want to play that way, fine. Add: Alan Wake Halo Wars Peter Jackson's Halo game Bungie's new game Cry On Blue Dragon 2 Lost Odyssey 2 Forza 3 Viva Pinata 2 Ketsui X Raiden Fighters Aces Otomedius Treasure's new 2D shooter LiPS That weird movie game Star Ocean 4 Mass Effect 2 Zoids Assault Spectral Force 3 And so on. Also, do you know what Microsoft's lineup for 2009 is? 'Cuz if you do, you might want to share it with the rest of us, since I can only guess Halo Wars at this point. Do we know what Sony's lineup for the next 2 years is? Well, your list certainly indicates that we do. So like, if you want to get technical, I don't even have MS's exclusives for '09-'10 listed there... so... like... your list is kind of a... you know... unfair comparison. ;-) But if it makes you happy, yes, in two years the PS3 would have more exclusives than the 360 if no more exclusives were made for the 360 after 2008.
MAkes perfect business sense. The PS3 is a dead walking right now anyway... man Iwish I had never bought mine...
Bumped for the full truth. Apparently, although this is very vague, Wikipedia lists 105 Xbox-360 exclusive games - but at the end of the day it doesn't matter. The vast majority of games are multi-platform, and you should always pick the console to buy on the strength of the exclusive games and what suits you. The number of exclusive games I wanted to play and that were available on the 360 outweighed the number of exclusive games I wanted to play on the PS3 combined with the added cost. Also, a rounded overly shiny console seemed a pain in the arse.
No, you mentioned a few that came to mind for the PS3, then as many as you could for the XB360 and over stated the comparison of numbers to make my argument look as weak as possible. But in reality, the number of exclusives is pretty even presently, with more for the PS3 in the pipeline which is the point I was trying to make. Let us not forget that the XB360 has a long lead time on the PS3, so your list of titles already out for the XB360 is bound to be larger, it would be bizarre is if wasn't. I mean, who gives a fuck about scene-it and fushion fenzy 2, really? But they are in your list, despite you trying to be kind to the PS3. Laughable. Also, I barely touched on the full software development list for the PS3 in terms of exclusives, as we all know that these lists change drastically over time. If you take the time to really read the list of titles I have included, then you'll realize the majority of the list is either out now, or due by the end of the year, with a few sometime in 2009. Sony is putting a lot more of an investment into first and second party development, more in fact than even Nintendo. So if my list seems unfair, then consider the real reason for this. Microsoft are not backward in listing future software when they have it. It's just they don't have the same catalog. That's why we see them paying 50million for a few GTA4 episodes.
