AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's everything that III should have been and then some. The modes are great, Music isn't recycled. New characters are awesome and the create a character is more indepth than 3 plus you get 50 slots to play with. Awesome game all around. Who else is playing and give live tags for asswhoopins
I'm playing and I can say that yoda or darth vader are very unbalanced ... the story is ridiculous and is very EASY !!! I played with 3 characters the story mode in normal difficulty and I only lost one combat !!!. Technically is "normal", nothing amazing. Is a good game but I don't think that amazing. The editor is very good.
I don't have 3 on the PS2 but I enjoyed the GC version of 2, mainly due to link. I m going for the PS3 version thanks to the optional installation and Vader.
I'd like to be playing this right now but unfortunately the assholes at Gamestop gave me the wrong limited edition and won't let me take it back for the right one.
Soul Caliber on the dreamcast was a joy to play and had belivable characters, once they got to 2 it started to get gimmicky by adding the one character from another game universe, soul caliber 3 had too many problems and was largely ignored but , with darth vader and yoda it just screams "Feck, SCIV won't sell unless we add a gimmick..."
I agree. The last good Soul Calibur was the Dreamcast one. I just don't understand why they need to add characters from other games that just do not fit. It's stupid. Saying that I did enjoy Soul Calibur 2 on the Game Cube but did I enjoy playing as link? Did I bollocks. Yakumo
I hardly played Soul Calibur 3 when it came out, just not interested anymore. Bargain bin for this one I think. You can buy a lot of gaming fun for $60, that's 12 Super Nintendo carts.
I got the Asia Version The apprentice is CHEAP and Yoda really doesn't fit at all. He's fun to use but it makes no sense. Maybe the use of Star Wars is to recapture the magic of II... 3 was the best of the Calibur series IMO. 4 is too early to tell, but it is pretty epic to watch. I reckon the Starwars characters are there to get a all starwars licensed version in the future.
The day I heard about the Star Wars characters being included in SC4, was the day I wrote off the series forever.
The only good thing about star wars in SC IV..... Duel of the fates is in it. Subsequently that was the only good thing about Episode 1 as well. So according to Soul Calibur Zelda, Star Wars, Tekken, and Spawn are all set in the same Universe......... W T F

Fan service dude, like the Spartan in DOA4... SC in DC was nothing short of groundbreaking, graphics were like nothing seen before. The only way they could make it again is if they bought a UT3 engine license and made some really detailed characters, almost photorealistic. Then, it may get some of the old glory back.
all the games in the serie look like that at first. then understanding, and vs playing will make you see the potential.
According to the Story Mode, Star Wars is not just Far Far Away, and not in the same Universe. Yoda got to the place Soul Calibur is held to investigate what Vader is doing there. That's the story.
If they are going to add bonus characters from different series I wish they would at least pick some characters with a better fit than previous choices. Link was cool but I personally think the series is begging for a Belmont to appear in it.
Soul Calibur on the DC was inferior, in my view and enjoyment, that the GC version of 2. That's just me.
