I'd love an HD 2D pixel Splatterhouse sequel, but I'm afraid that this will very likely not the case. :/
Anyone else think that Splatterhouse got rather tedious? I played the PC Engine version a few days ago and after the first level I just wanted to pull the plug and play something else...
For the time, it was on par with other hack n' slash type games. But yeah, once you got past the visuals it got rather monotomous until you got to the bosses, which were pretty unique. The poltergeist fight still brings back memories.
You know whatelse needs to come back as a Devil May Cry style game Valis........... God How I love the Valis games
$10 says it will be "newified" which means it will be crap, for the most part. The most promising looking revivial game seems to be the new Bionic Commando... fun, but a bit ugly.
Great news, it must be a beat them up in 3d with a game play like fighting force or a 2d game play like splatter house 3.
I didn't ever play much of any Splatterhouse game, until I found the SD Splatterhouse on Famicom. I played the hell out of that, and even did a mapper hack of it to port it from Namco 106 to Nintendo MMC3. I'm always curious if these attempts at reviving (cashing in) on a classic series end up any good. We will see I guess. Often I think it is a lose-lose situation as you can't please everyone.
