Holy shit,it was at 21 grand not to long ago,now its at 40 grandh: Now I wonder what the ending bid will be,any guesses.
I think it will either decrease back to something like 25-28k or it will stay at 40 till the end, but that's just a guess.
Well who would have guessed it... Yet another "sealed" Stadium Events has come up for auction. http://cgi.ebay.com/Stadium-Events-...1029QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Vintage_Video_Games
So, three copies in less than a month - two of them sealed. Is it remotely possible that 'Stadium Events' isn't quite as rare as people might have thought it was?
I still don't understand how one can pay that much for something like that. This is just a stupid retail game everyone could buy... Unreleased games/builds are the true gems, why don't people pay as much for those? This is getting way beyond ridiculous. I really feel sorry for whoever wins this auction.
The problem here is that this was a once released game that was just recalled. For all we know there is a game store owner that still has a case of these in his back room that he never sent back. There is no telling how many there are and there is zero precedent for this kind of pricing. The $13,000 sale of the last one on ebay seemed alright to me, but a possible $40,000 sale just makes no sense.
On a similar note, a Detective Comics #27 (first appearance of batman) sold for over a million bucks at an auction recently. It was rated 8.0 out of 10 in terms of condition.
$41,000 sold. There's another one, now, too! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110499541029 lol, some people are raging right now I bet.
Amazing how supposedly rare this pile of crap is when you can look on ebay & find loads. If you can find it online that easily it isn't rare in my books.
