well i finally know someone who was bricked so i take everything i said back about it being bs =p

that said, dash.xex has nothing to do with it. This persons kit bricked when he did a test to pnet from the XDK tools menu. He had a clean HDD, with no profiles on it. After a reboot, his kit was dead. so, profiles, dash.xex or any other theorys about downloading, profiles etc are false.

I think the whitelist theory is most accurate

I'm gunna go ahead and reply to you before I read any further. Haven't you stated this same thing over and over again? Obviously not every person with a bricked kit saw your "warnings." Kinda a dick move to just go ahead and laugh at the entire audience when only a handful overlooked what you are claiming to have said so clearly.

This whole conceited thing going on is out of hand. It's like nearly every post of yours pertaining to this topic is the same thing said over and over again, worded slightly differently. Besides, talking about fucking with Microsoft, did you not leak a Forza 2 Build? Why are you so proud of yourself when you quite possibly contributed to this problem more than many people here? Like, I feel bad for the people whose kits died. Fortunately though, I've never leaked anything nor done anything that could provoke Microsoft in a negative manner...

That being said, I've gone on Pnet on a demo kit and a dev, and downloaded things on the demo without anything happening (as recent as up to yesterday). People are asking me if this whole issue with Pnet is over and if things are "safe" yet, but I think it's more on an individual basis now. (Kit origin, accounts, games and other certain executables..) Personally I'm not recommending people go on, because I don't want to be blamed for a broken kit, but has any progress been made on figuring out what exactly is causing this?

No kidding! Considering there's roughly 1.3 Billion people living there, to assume that all kits in China aren't legit is naive. To note, Microsoft wants to maximize its' business by being worldwide, and to miss out on one of the biggest markets in the world would harm the business.

After all, it's Google here that's in the whole backing out of China ordeal; and Microsoft is taking advantage of this situation to get Bing going strong. (Even willing to go sensor things, it looks like!) Also, people in that country are used to working hard. Their schools are much more harsh and strict, teaching them different habits than us in the western world. Apply that same work ethic to game developing and good results happen.

i have no doubt specific kits were targeted in this. I really dont care if bearkilla chooses to believe me or not, since he is just a moron that hangs out on irc channels and brags about leaking from pnet anyway - what i stated that happened was true. It happened to a well respected member of the 360 scene and a homebrew developer i might add.

if you can still get on pnet and mess around 5 weeks later id say you are probably ok - at least this time around. Personally id remove R6T3 and go from there.

Since this thread can't seem to exist without bickering and insults it is getting locked.
