They better Deliver. It's going to take every fighting game programer on Earth to pull off something that improves on 3rd strike.
Finally, not like we've been waiting many years or anything. If it's in 3D then I'll be the first with the burning torch and pitchfork to Capcoms Osaka HQ. "Hey we need to do a trailer for the new SF IV game that'll be out sometime in the future." 'Hmm I know how about we have Ryu and Ken fighting somewhere dark in a field and have it end with Ryu doing a dramactic Hadoken?' "Haven't we done that a few times before in other SF games?" 'Yes...' "Excellent idea, get on to it straight away'. The trailer, looks like a trailer and nothing else, it does look a bit arty farty to be a game, as in all the black splattering in hits. Be interesting to see some gameplay footage sometime soon. What I don't want to see. Characters from any game not in the SF universe, otherwise you are scraping that barrel so hard that it'll collapse into sawdust if you so much as breath on it. More old characters then new. Orginally everyone said you were mad when you only kept Ken and Ryu in SF3 but now everyone said it was the best thing to happen. 3D, it better be 2D playing. Ryu or Ken looking like they are 20 again (see Terry Bogard in Garou - Mark of Wolves). Although the trailer still doesn't have Ryu and Ken looking like they are hitting their mid 40s. No women under the age of 30, token Chun Li aside, be nice to see a grown up Sakura. Straight to console, it better be in an arcade in Japan somewhere first. Anything less then 6 buttons.
I'm looking forward to this. SFIII 3rd Strike was a fantastic game so let's hope they can stick with the playability of that and improve up on it as well as Capcom VS SNK style backgrounds with some cool effects. It’s been a very long time since we had something flowing to play in a 2D fighter. All those ARC System games feel like a 2D Teken to me. Not fluid at all. StreetFighter and KOF have always reminded me of Virtua Fighter as regards to fluency. Yakumo
Yeah that video is looking pretty sweet. I wouldn't be against a 3D Street Fighter, if they could make it play well enough. I remember when SF III first came out it was lambasted, but nowadays it's considered the close to the pinnacle of 2D fighting games.
I think whatever Super Street Fighter II HD Remix ends up looking like amp that up by 10 and you got SF IV. I never thought of an adult Sakura but that's a good idea. I want Cammy back and Mokoto(which I just realized I already said), an older yun and Yang, Remy would be nice too Dudley and Balrog should return. Vega would be nice. We don't need Gouki just make Ryu Goukiesque. Gill was a silly boss and SF III's story was dumb. Lets put the focus back and Ken and Ryu.
I wonder why capcom is putting an embargo from showing any screens or footage of Super Street Fighter II HD Remix when it's already playable at the event.
Damn! Finally! I hope that the remade SF2 on 360 isn't as hard as the SF2 currently on there. That shit is insane, even on lowest difficulty.
Exactly. HD sprites are mandatory. But i hope it keeps the 2D style, even though they can go mad about the scenarios. PS: Capcom, if you must have a brazilian fighter on it, please keep Sean (and improve it) or add a fully Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fighter.
I also hope they only make one Version of Street Fighter IV and not upgrade it 8 months after like they did to Street Fighter III. Get it Right the first time then give us Street Fighter V
that's a bit dumb to say. the biggest play-test is when actual players play the game and give you feed-back. Even modern games like gears of war have fine-tuning patches. There's no such thing as "getting it right the first time" - Just have a look at VF4 on PS2. You can either settle for earlier versions or you can go final tuned
They can do downloadable content or something I guess now, but I got to say, it does piss me the fuck off when I cave on a game, CD or movie and a few months later theres some new version. Street Fighter and fighting games have tons of revisions, wheras sometihng like Gears of War got some patches. They didn't make you buy a new game, but that was before the whole patching/content thing.
you said it yourself. patching is the solution of course - it's only been recently that console games have "live" updates.
I hopw they don't go with patches for this. ugh... I'd much rather have revisions with added things such as characters, moves and backrounds like used to be the way of yore.
Well, yeah, that would be in the patches, or expansions or whatever. Just don't release virtually the same game 12 times in a year, especially with games costing 60$ that's kind of unfair.
Almost all of Gears of War's patches were to fix multiplayer exploits that were unknown before. You can't really blame them too much considering these days they could fix that. I don't know what to think about SF4. I didn't care much for SF3 really.
You should see the circle jerk over at the Shoryuken forums. I already forgot about SF IV......I just got Samurai Shodown Tenka and destrega
Tenka, FOTNS, MS6, KOFXI and RF2 (had it already) amount to my dream collection - it just so happens that they all reside on the Atomiswave (and apart from RF2, on the PS2 too).
I have Tenka (Gaoh is still a bastard), MS6, and Hokoto no ken (Roah is a bastard) and will have KOF XI, But RF2? what's that?
