Just bought plants vs zombies and it requires you to be online and requires you to play with other players. Sorry not my style of game. In buying the game I had no indication that it would require a gold account all the time and require me to play with other players all the time. Unfortunately in this day and age try returning a open game good luck. If this is the way xbox one and ea is going I will never buy another ea or xbox one game again.
it just seems that the xbox on console has been designed to be online always. Also was reading (not sure if true or not) that if your installing the game from a disc while connected online takes longer then it does if offline. My guess if that is true is due to it grabbing the updates at the same time.
Yeah Xbox One is really meant as a multiplayer console. Its a bit weaker hardware wise then the ps4 but the xbox live service is what draws people in. I read Titanfall which is console exclusive to the Xbox One doesn't even have a story mode.

I think EA are pathologically incapable of learning from experience. The whole company is run by media lawyer scum, and the day they go bankrupt will be a great one for the games business. Personally, I made the decision to never buy anything that EA was involved in years ago - admittedly I missed out on a few decent titles, but I despise everything about the company so much that it was a pretty easy decision. I also decided I wasn't going to buy the XBone when I heard that the guy in charge of the platform was ex-EA, since that told me everything I needed to know about the level of contempt for their customers the platform was going to embody. I wonder if "customer contempt coordinator" is an actual job title at EA?
Not with new title. After the experience did some research on line and found out it is multi player only. really bites. Also, did not know till today that titan fall is also only a multiplayer. What a joke Looks like the xbox one will soon become a bookend or something for target practice at the range
The only thing that bothers me about situations like this is how obvious the solution is. If only the company would stop listening to their stock holders and actually looking at what their customers are saying about their products, they'd realize how bad the consequences of their filthy actions are. They know they're not doing their consumers any favors with DRM, but if they only saw how genuinely upset they make people with it, MAYBE they'd start giving a fuck about something besides money.
I really tried in good faith thinking that once it had fully installed and downloaded they would have a single player WRONG. They force you to long into origins so I tried to create an account with easucks ..site will not approve it so I created a new email easucks@ it is great having your own email server would have just deleted my entire account but they do not give you an option to do that. Marketing needs to keep track of emails and people well they will love my email. Oh and account name NeverbuyfromEA
Wise choice sir. The XBOX ONE is always staring at me, but I just don't like the way they are going about the system at all. I'm worried they'll patch DRM into it in a few years. Everyone will turn around and say to me "I TOLD YOU SO!"...
Same here. The only EA games i bought this gen: Burnout Paradise (2nd hand), Dead Space (two and half years after it's release) and Dead Space 2. Also got Fifa 11, but that was a gift from my uncle. I had opportunities to buy other titles like Need For Speed Hot Pursuit for dirty cheap, but passed it. When i see the EA logo, i remember how much i despise them.
It's kind of sad, though - I liked the original xbox (although second to the PS2) and really thought that the 360 was the best console of the previous generation. So it was a little disheartening to find that the XBone had turned into something that I really couldn't bring myself to buy. Having said that, I haven't bought the PS4 yet, either - but once a game comes out on it that I really want to play, I will.
It's really your own fault since you bought the game without knowing anything about it – any review would've told you it's a multiplayer game.
I completely disagree. I should not have to read reviewers to know the game is only multiplayer. I am not an avid gamer anymore I play on occasion. Any reasonable person should be able to assume a game for any console has the ability to be played offline. This is how consoles have been for the last 10+ years. I would expect the case to sate it. The only reference they put was you need a gold account and they include a 2 day pass so one would assume you just need to do an update or to load the first time in order to play. Had they put a statement this is a multiplayer online game only on the front cover I would not have bought it and would have know.
You got to be shitting me. XBOX360 was terrible and unreliable in most years . mostly important XBOX360 exclusive titles was poor compare to PS3 titles.
