So, i was just thinking about cars today sor some odd reason... and i just wanted to know what ya think, i personally thing european cars are the best, followed by japanese and then the american pig wagons note: by pig wagon i dont mean that americans are pigs... i mean that the cars are horrible looking and bulky...
I voted European. Can't go wrong with Porsche, Ferrari, Lambo... :smt023 Japanese cars are pretty decent as well. American cars...well, those damned SUVs are fugly! :smt067
I'd choose an European one if I had enough money (BMW, Audi, Mercedes, Ferrari, Lamborghini and many others). But there are some Japanese ones that seems very good (Toyota and Mitsubishi come to mind)
American because they are cheap here and if you're lucky, you'll score a reliable car for a much lower price than a jap/euro car. But my first car is american and its been doing ok everyonce in a while. Its a Saturn so don't expect it to go fast or have a good resale value. My next car I'm trying to get is a Honda, most likely a civic, but if I'm lucky a Honda Prelude. That car I'll keep through the rest of my college career and early job career. My third car (when I become successful and make more money) will be a nice BMW 740iL : Hopefully if they keep making this car in the future, that or a nice SAAB.
I've owned cars from all three...for Kristy I'll go European for the comfort and options but for my current taste I'll go with the biggest SUV I can find in the US....I love the SUV
Not my choice, but where would Korean (KIA, Daewoo, Hyundai) go? Went with Japanese, though I must say I have never driven a US car, though I must say US cars from the 1960's look cool :smt033
Er, that BMW 7-series went out of production about 2 years ago unfortunately. The new ones, like all the new BMWs, are fugly: Also, there's more to European cars than the expensive ones that they sell in the US! There's also lots of cheap crap (well, compared to a Merc or BMW anyway!), like FIATs, Seat, Citroen, Peugeot, and not forgetting the hideous crap that comes from the east like Dacia (Romania) and Lada (Russia). And any normal car from the UK is almost guaranteed to be crap. Heed - the Rover 45: That car was introduced in 1996, and is still being made in the UK today. Compare this to the 1992 Honda Domani: See any similarities?! A few facelifts, reduce the build quality by a factor of eleventy billion, and you've got the exact same car they were selling in Japan TWELVE YEARS ago! It must be the one of the oldest cars still in production, now the days of the Mini, Beetle and Citroen 2CV are gone. Personally I like Japanese cars best. Maybe it's because I'm living in Ireland - a country that has this weird icky unquestionable love for the Toyota Corolla (which I should mention is VERY different from the ass they sell in the US) - but I really like some of the crazy crap they sell there. I'd love to get a Daihatsu Naked: YES, IT'S A REAL CAR.
You forgot Talbot and Yugo :smt043 :smt043 Damn, in all my life I have only seen about 3 Talbots and one Yugo :smt030
I voted european 2nd comes japanese cars. And i'll never buy an american car they just look and feel cheap and let's not forget the horrible galons to the miles ratio instead of miles to the galon aspecialy those hughe butt-ugly suv's like that new cadilac all the hip-hopper cruise arround in.
Europe, of course. Just going to list: - Lotus - Jaguar - Aston Martin - TVR - Maserati - BMW (the latest designs are terrible, but they are fantastic cars) - Audi - Volvo (the company that changed it's old image) - Alfa-Romeo - Peugeot (you can hate me, but i like it) ... Not going to mention Ferrari, Porsche and Lambo, mostly because everybody likes them. So there's no point to add them on the list. American cars are probably like Brazilian ones. Made of cheap materials. But at least the Brazilian cars have the european style :smt023 I like the old American cars. The so-called American Muscles :smt030 Japanese? Well, i like what they do to the mechanical parts of the car. Honda's engines are amazing, specially the 1.6 (160HP) from the Civic Type R and the 2.0 (240HP) from the S2000. These powerful engines are not turbocharged, and if you install it on them their hp will increase a lot! PS: By the way, it's just me, or everybody hates Rover? :-D I love that Top Gear episode, when they get to test the "City Rover". Freaking hilarious.
Im split on this decision, I've had a few japanese cars, rx7s and my latest is a passat. both countries make nice technogically advanced cars. where as american cars... hmm, oh yah, blow. The only trend I've seen in America's 'great' cars, is cramming some junk old giant push rod technology (read hemi) into larger and larger cars and suv's, thats some inovation right there i tell yah. i can safely say there are no american cars that are all that attractive looking really, save for the vette and sorda the new gto, the rest looks pretty blah. dont rip on me though, I do live here and I did own a fiero at one point :smt043
Lotus isnt Britsh any more some far east company owns it... :smt022 (saying that i nearly got an elise) TVR all the way
Hey It must be a VW, I own a Golf III No, not mine, but same model with smaller engine They kick ass, are good on gas, drive nice and are very reliable. Germans engineered Volkswagen :-D Though I must admit that japanese cars are very nice as well.
yes :smt033 thats the mark 3 Golf.... they are up to mark 5 :smt023 I (meaning me/family) own a Mark 3 and a 4
