Hmm, I'll sell mine for 9999 yen :D See, I'm not heartless. I'm saving you 1 yen from 10'000 yen.

Perrin Kaplan NOA VP of Marketing: You know we’ve taken a really close look at what they’re doing in Europe and what they’re doing in Japan. You have to remember that, geographically, we’re much bigger here and cost-wise, it is much more expensive to run a program like that. We try to do pre-sale with our retailers as often as possible. You’re talking about a scale that is much larger. But we do look at the differences in markets and what consumers are liking. It’s just a difference in scale.

Well if there afraid about loosing money due to manufacturing cost, then just sell the damn thing. I mean I know that a lot of wii owners exist in the U.S., but honestly how many of them actually register their games?
I say there should be a petition to bring this to the U.S.

Flattery will get you nowhere mate :110: To be honest, 40 USD isn't worth anything here in Japan :crying: Couldn't even buy a game with that.

Let's say on avarage a new game on a real console (read, not handheld) will cost you from 5800 yen (52 USD). That is unless you are buying PS3 games which I think are near 7800 yen (70 USD)

You know how come the prices have always been higher in japan for games that the U.S. I thought with it being domestic it be cheaper for Japanese gamers not the other way around.

Well in the same way it's cheaper to buy a Mercedes in the USA than to buy it in England, despite the distance.

I want one! I want one! I want one! :D
This is what I was hoping that Nintendo would have released instead of the "classic" controller >=/

Oh how I love that I live in Sweden with the crappiest Nintendo support in the world :p
We didn't get the new straps when the rest of the world got it, we didn't get those new grip thingys for the wiimote when the rest of the world got it.. and I bet we won't get this too.

Currently not worth that much in America either...

Indeed you could buy at least half a dozen from your favourite hard recycling shop. :110:
I don't know what shops you're buying your PS3 games from, but I assume that you er aren't not owning said lovely piece of hardware. I have around 10 games and I've not spent more then 5800 on any of them (and yes all of them were nice and new and shrink wrapped). In fact the last new game I picked up was Midnight Wangan and that cost me Y3800 new... :110:

As for the pad, I'm sure a few more VC releases and Nintendo might get their finger out and release all those lovely pads that they showed in the pre wii launches. There seems something unholy about using a Super Famicom pad to play PC Engine or even Megadrive games.

Nope, I don't buy PS3 games since I don't have one but I have seen some mad prices on them in a few shops when they are first released.

I normally buy my stuff direct from the makers to get the free gifts but if I do buy stuff from a shop I normally go to GEO (Like Tsutaya) because they always knock off about 500 yen if it's a big title.

More like is cheaper to buy it in the states than in germany, when its made:lol:

About japan, I know they subsidize their exports by charging a little extra on the domestic market. They have been doing this since the 80s, its nothing new...

6 years since this post and that snazzy Snes Wii Classic Controller -still-
isn't being sold to the general public. Y'all should have ganged up and sent
emails to NoA's customer service and begged them to sell it in Gamestop.

Nobody cares anymore i guess. And if you need one, it's really easy - one SNES pad, one semi-broken Classic Controller (for example with dead analog sticks), some very common tools including soldering iron, max 1 hour of your time and you'll get a SNES controller for Wii. I used to mod pads that way when i was 13 years old. For example i had a saturn pad - my friend stepped on the wire and ripped it out along with piece of PCB, and i had a SNES pad with semi-broken d-pad. Some PCB cutting and soldering - and we have a perfect SNES controller for fighting games, with z = LS, C= RS, had to add select button though.

^ - The appeal of the Club Nintendo SNES Wii Classic Controller is that it is a -brand new- Super Nes controller with -new- rubber internals and -new- plastic un-discolored by the ravages of time. Personally though, I'd much rather see them bring back the old flat Classic Controller with the analog sticks and the shoulder buttons fixed.

And if I was going to do anything with adapters, I'd go with something by Mayflash.
