Eh, Y and A aren't quite spaced right on the classic controller. Messes up Mega Man X.

What do you mean Y and -A- don't you mean Y (Shoot) and B (Jump) and R (Dash) and X and A (Cycle Weapon Forward / Cycle Weapon Backward)??? And it suits me just fine, so much that I have all my Joy2Key profiles set up so that Y is always Shoot / Action and B is Jump or whatever, even on NES games. You wanna talk about weird, the Wii U Pro Controller makes it so the only way my arrangement would be comfortable is if I swapped Y and B for X and A, otherwise trying to do it with Y and B and still hitting the zR (for a Shot Charge + Jump + Dash) is really difficult and uncomfortable. Doing that is much easier on the old CC.

Doesn't Nintendo have remapping for the Virtual Console by now?

I mean, this is something that emulators have had as an option since people
first started making them, when is Ninty going to get with the friggin' times?
Yeah, if I can't have Y as Run and B as Jump when I'm playing Super Mario Bros.
on a 3DS, then screw the friggin' 3DS. I'll play it on my PC where I -can- remap.
They chose Y and B for the default Run and Jump in Super Mario World and nearly
every other SNES game because it comforms to the natural angle of the thumb.
They should have maintained that as an option, especially since playing an NES
game on the Wii VC with the Classic meant that it defaulted to B and A and you
had to tilt your thumb so it pointed down instead of up, which is painful as f**k.

Sometimes I think about getting a soldering iron and junk and replacing the analog potentiometers from
one of my less tight Classic Controllers with the analog potentiometers from the Nyko Wing controller
(I bought a set hoping they'd work with my Mayflash adapter, sadly they do not) as they have those
nice ringed caps and the stick itself is ridiculously tight and resistant... but then I also don't know
if they'd line up right in there or be so tall that they'd drag against the underside of the housing.
