System Disk 2?

Hi guys, Ive been looking around and Ive seen this mentioned but no actual links were given. A quick google earned me nothing.

Im trying to boot a GDR which I recently bought but I found that you cant boot it using traditional methods. steadster suggested making a post in the hopes that someone would be able to help me out. Well here I am. Can anyone help me?

Edit: alright it looks like this thing is kinda on the rare side...does anyone have any swap tricks that would work with this?

 

Someone around here wrote a tutorial on how to bood GDRs on a retail DC, so I'm pretty sure it can be done. The only problem is that the name of that person escapes me at the moment. Somebody else will chime in though, I'm sure.

Its right there but noone really explains how exactly or when to swap the disc's out..anyone?

Is there any dev kit I can buy that will play these?

 

When it says stop the disk, does it mean to stop it in the cd player, or to just whip it out and put the GD-R in?

Sorry, Hijacking the tread. I think the HKT-120 plays GD-rs no problem

 

A Dreamcast Dev Kit (aka 'Katana') plays 'em a treat:

After you hear the DC do a little beep noice, swap the discs quickly. It does work & once you do it once, you will be able to do it every time!

 

Try this

Boot DC
Go to CD player
Put in original
play track 2 until the track stops
whip out the original
put in the GDR
return to main menu

I'm trying to do it on my other GDR And that seems ot come close to booting - I think its failing on the region check as mine is a PAL console and the disk is marked as NTSC/US

Engineer, How much would one of those run me?

Stead, I tired that and its still going back to the main menu after I try and load it.

 

After going to a white screen? I think if it is then thats it failing on region...possibly....

 

When I go back from the music menu it goes white...then pauses and goes back to the main screen. Argh this is so frustrating!

Anyone happen to know how much those Katana's Assembler is selling are?
